Taste Of The Middle East

Stop over here for lunch with my coworker, as we were looking to get out of the office but find somewhere convenient and with good food. Taste of the Middle East did satisfy on all of those needs. This is conveniently located at Lake forest oasis rest stop, and it was fast and convenient. I ordered the chicken kebab with extra vegetables and light rice, and was accommodated with no issue. My coworker had th chicken shawarma , which I tasted and thought was a bit more moist than my kebab. Next time I will have that. It was kind of fun to sit overlooking the highway and watch the trucks and cars drive right underneath you too!

Not good anymore. I used to stop at this place everytime I past the Lake Forest Oasis and looked forwarded to eating a Shawarma wrap. Recently the wraps have been tasting worse and worse... I don't see the same guy that used to work here, so maybe there is a new owner. They are not inedible, but might as well just eat Taco Bell here.

Man taking my order rolled his eyes when my partner ordered 2 vegan #8's.It felt like we were bothering him and he had a scowl while prepping the orders . In each pack were charred on one side and doughy on the other side flat bread, 2 sour fermented salads, one small grape leaf, hummus and 2 small dry falafels. Everything was bland and tasted old. Couldnt eat the 2 salads and whatever was in the top corner. He looked annoyed that a female was paying. I didnt get a receipt and went back. another man walked me through texting it to me.

Totally bummed and disappointed. I ordered the falafel platter ($12) and got 3 falafel, baba ganoush, tahini, cucumber and pita. I noticed someSort of silent talkGoing on at the falafelFryer so I looked in my container and see 3 falafel the size of a small olive. I have never seen such small falafel and then looked up at menu and it showed 4. After looking at them again I realized they had been sitting for awhile and were all burned and dried out.I said I thought it came with 4 and he said " oh okay, we will get you another" 12 minutes later after I almost just left I got 4 new ones replacing but he used my container and of course I couldn't not be a little concerned.Uggh, anyways I will bypass next time.

I was happy to find a Middle Eastern restaurant at an oasis. I was not so happy with my food. Perhaps I shouldn't expect much at an oasis, but based on the other reviews, I thought this would be better.The highlight of the meal was the chicken kebabs. The meat was very high-quality and baked with delicious onions. Problem was that we came toward the end of the afternoon after the food had been sitting in heaters for several hours. The chicken was dry but still OK.The hummus, which is hard to screw up, was the worst that I've eaten. It could have used more tahini, lemon, and a dash of cayenne pepper. Flavorless.The mixed vegetables had too many carrots and looked pretty sad by the time we scooped it out of the styrofoam bowl. I did enjoy the lentil soup.No one comes for the atmosphere, I wouldn't return for the food.

No idea how this place has any good reviews. I'm a huge shawarma fan, but this place taste like garbage and I got food poisoning, which I expected would happen after eating this horrible food. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap, the meat was dry and over cooked. The pita was stale and had a horrible stale taste. The veggies in it were watery and has zero taste. There was nothing redeeming about this place. Absolutely disgusting and I've been sick all day for eating half of the wrap because I was starving. Regret big time. So disappointing a zabiha place is serving such horrible food.

Food delicious, people wonderful. Customer service awesome. Prices great, very clean. Will elaborate later! I am so hungry and it smells so wonderful. I about to bust my neck! Lol. I have been waiting to come while it was open for the longest!!! Mmmm. There's soon much to choose from. Yaaaas!

My Mediterranean friend recommended this restaurant to me, and I just stopped in, never having been there before. The gentleman working the counter was polite and served up everyone's order quickly even though he was the only one cooking and taking orders. I got a chicken shawarma sandwich with hot sauce and a side of tahini. Everything was delicious and I'll certainly be going back!

date: 11/26/22time: 7:15pmi love middle eastern food with all of my heart. i was so excited to get a break from my drive and have some delicious food. however, i had the absolute worst experience of my life and i do not want you to make the same mistake! red flags:(1) fruit smoothie was brown and premade. it was disgusting. i can't believe i paid for it.(2) the guy grabbed my falafel with his hands. it was cold and the hummus tasted like detergent. how does someone mess up hummus?! gross.(3) the lamb was not fresh and was in a tray, cold, in the back. it should have been freshly sliced like... idk shawarma implies it will be?! disgusting.go to panda express. the food will at least be fresh. what a waste of $30. i'm livid and also have food poisoning. thank you for nothing. please do not make the same mistake i did.
