This was our first time at the restaurant. We wanted to try something different. We were seated and it took a while for the server to come over with the menus. When we walked in, there was only one server. We told the server that it was our first time and was offered no help in the ordering process. Consequently, we ordered way too much food. I also said that I had dietary restrictions and still no comments from the server. The food that we had was good. We ordered a Himalayan salad with the dressing on the side. Next was the chicken momo, delicious. Next we ordered the shrimp jalfrazi which was very good. Lastly, we ordered the Himalayan biryanis. This dish was a bit dry and not as good. Our big problem was that we wanted the food spaced out. However, it all came at the same time, allowing things that should have been hot, weren't. We are willing to try it again because the food was very good. I hope that the service is way better than this time.

In regards to my Oct 2023 experience: Im sorry but I was not a fan of this establishment. Once we sat down - we really should've just left because of the awfully strong bathroom/sewage smell and the sticky floors. I had this place bookmarked for so long and was excited to finally try it but left disappointed and concerned about cleanliness. The whole place looked run down and like it was in need of a real deep cleaning. The lemon slices we received in our drink were old and brown. We ordered Garlic naan, Vegetable biryani and Chicken makhani. We felt like the food was just ok and I personally didn't like the biryani as it was quite oily. We left at closing time and sat in our car in front of the restaurant to chat for a few minutes. Less than 10 mins after closing time, they were leaving and locking the place up. Which tells me there's barely any cleaning in the restaurant being done at the end of the day. I can't speak for the back of house (kitchen) but no one was sweeping or mopping etc in the front of house (dining area) while we dined in or after close.

This is one of the few Nepalese restaurants where you can opt to sit on the floor (I personally don't like it as my knees no longer allow me to sit comfortably sukhasana style). They have a good lunch special during the week. The soup starter was nicely flavored with cilantro and delicious. The chicken tikka masala was tasty but the chicken chilly was overcooked and dry (the flavor was good though). The chicken sekuwa was a hit with my friend. Efficient and friendly service.

It's been a while since we decided to have Indian food, and we were delighted to discover this place while in the area. Usually, my sister and I go to the Hillcrest location, but it has become too busy and crowded.Upon entering, I noticed there weren't many people seated, except for another couple, which was perfect as my sister and I had some catching up to do. The server promptly seated us, handed us menus, and provided glasses of water. After a few minutes of deciding, I observed that some prices had increased since our last visit, which is understandable considering the overall rise in expenses. I chose the chicken vindaloo, while my sister opted for the aloo banta. For sides, we selected plain naan. Our food arrived within 10-15 minutes, and we were thoroughly pleased with the flavors. Both curries were rich and incredibly tasty. My sister went for a spice level of 7, while I chose a spice level of 6. Despite usually preferring spicier options, I always regret going beyond a 7...Our server was excellent, ensuring we had everything we needed. He refilled our water glasses about five times, given that we drank a lot of water, and also because my sister accidentally had her food go down the wrong way.In conclusion, I highly recommend this place for anyone craving Nepali/Indian cuisine.

We tried a new chicken, but we prefer the chicken tika misala. The nann was good as always. The service was good, not too active though. The ambiance is decorative, many paper lanterns.

Been coming here for years. Since this was the original and only location and for over ten years. My whole family used to loved this restaurant and any time we had friends or family in town we would bring them here but today was my last time and let me tell you why.On 11/22 ordered the usual. Paneer tikka (4) with garlic cilantro naan. Get home to realize lid on plastic container not closed all the way and the rice is half full and the garlic cilantro naan burned. Called immediately don't usually have this problem asked to speak to manager. Was told manager was not here took down my info and said I would be contacted back. Never was. Any other time of the tons of times Ive ordered the lid is secure the box of rice is full and the garlic naan is perfect not hard and crunchy.Called back a few more times including different locations to try to reach a manager. Also have proof of my purchase on 11/22 didn't want a refund just our food remade. Today finally spoke to a nice lady who said no problem we will remake it. When I got there to pick up the order the server had a serious attitude took a small pot of rice and threw it in the container on the counter and said see not half rice with rice spilling everywhere. This is so beyond rude. It's not the fact our order got messed up that happens it was the disrespect of the server throwing the rice which you have cameras so if you don't believe me watch the tape and see why there is rice all over your front counter.Never again will I eat here.

The food here is delicious and packed with flavor! I was so happy to have my leftovers the next day and just reminded of how good the food was. The samosas were fried perfectly and I loved the sauces they came with. For our mains we shared the butter chicken which was super rich and flavorful (I will call out that we asked for it spicy and it wasn't spicy at all) and the non-veg combo plate that comes with an assortment of dishes to try. In addition we ordered two sides of naan. We liked everything a lot and were stuffed by the end of the meal. The service was good and the food came out pretty quick. I liked the decorations on the walls and authentic atmosphere you felt when you walked inside the restaurant. Glad I finally got to try this place out!

Absolutely great place. Don't let the location fool you. The food here is excellent and cooked fresh. Oh. And if u haven't had Himalayan food...u need to try it. Momos are one of the best style of dumplings on earth. They executed them almost to perfection. Their samosas were awesome, and their chicken Tika Masala was on point!!Also, they have a great selection of Naan, I had the garlic Naan and it was great. The prices are also reasonable. It's next to a laundry mat, which tends to be an area that drug deals are made at...and...honestly...who in San Diego owns enough clothing but not enough money to be forced to use a laundry mat? For real people...laundry mats are like rotary phones. But...the restaurant is excellent
