This family owned bakery and bistro in Mundelein operates out of a small strip mall on a side street. It is quiet and unpretentious and a northern suburb jewel. Huge portions and low prices more than compensate for the limited menu. The hanger steak and other beef dishes are its forte. Succulent green beans cooked to perfection. There are a few fish/shrimp dishes that I would give a solid "B" to. Excellent and timely service.

The food is good, but the service could use some improvement. We waited for 15 minutes before someone took our breakfast order. Someone only came after I asked twice for a server to take our order. Then they brought the wrong food for one of our orders. We ate anyway because we were so hungry. They also only have whole milk for their lattes and the server didn't seem to care about what the customers like. Also, the decor is tragic. They seriously need some decorative guidance.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time now. The stars aligned and I was finally able to get here, on Father's Day, for breakfast. It didn't disappoint. This is my new favorite restaurant, and the only place I would consider paying for breakfast, in Lake County IL. The banana French toast was amazing. The scrambled eggs were the best tasting eggs I have ever had in my life. They must have come from special chickens, and they were prepared perfectly. The Florentine omelette was also delicious. I didn't try the crepes or the eggs Benedict, because there was nothing left to try. The coffee was very good. Nadine was our waitress and she was lovely. She did have what appeared to be a French accent. As described by others it is a French themed restaurant, and you can sit near what looks like the bottom of the Eiffel Tower. It's not a fancy place, and there is outdoor seating. The pastries looked great. I could barely sleep as I was dreaming of these pastries, and wondering if I should stop by for one on my way to work. Good thing I didn't because they are closed on Monday. I will definitely go back and I can't wait to try dinner. I could see several bottles of wine from were I was sitting. I should point out they have bloody Mary's and mimosas and other drinks like that. I suppose the only thing that was missing was a little more cream on the table, and maybe some garnish for the dishes to make them look even better, but don't be fooled by my pictures. The food was delicious even if that doesn't come across in the photos.

We came here at 8:30am on a Sunday morning for a lite breakfast! We got the quiche and a eggs Benedict on a croissant with a side of potatoes. The quiche was great! I would absolutely get it again. The croissant was good - nothing crazy. I personally didn't love the potatoes because I don't believe they were freshly cooked. The staff was nice and the owner even came out to talk to people in the restaurant. The ambiance is interesting, as it's Paris themed inside. This was overall a good experience.

$13 for soggy spinach crepes with rubbery canned mushrooms. Crepe was poorly cooked/raw, as well. Tacky decor, neglected exterior stuck in the 70's and not in a good way. Service was friendly, but nowhere near enough to get me to come back.

Went here for lunch with a friend. Indoor or outdoor seating available. Large additional room for overflow. Bakery with French desserts available as well as breads. Now let's get to food. We both had the French onion soup. Highly recommend. Baked mini crock, all the trimmings. I went with the savory ham and cheese crepes. (2). It came with choose of salad, which I had, fries or veggie. Dressing is the house Dijon oil/vinegar dressing. Delicious. My friend went with the croque missouire. Total with a drink was $30. I purchased some pastries for my dude. They were a little on the expensive side but homemade.

Environment is nice. Waitress didn't help us.We ordered a French toast with a side of chicken salad (to eat BOTH) together. She wait until everything is ready, to bring all the food at the table, to say that they didn't have chicken salad. Ok, could you please have been told me before, so I could ordered anything else? Wherever.Croissant with egg, ham and cheese was ok.Cheesecake bites, just ok.

It is shocking that taste of Paris has not marketed themselves with the Olympics. They should've had Olympian specials every day.If they just painted their walls, white, cleaned it up a little bit and added a blue tablecloth, this place would look great. The food is good, but the ambience is awful.

My golf league had a luncheon here a few weeks ago. We ordered ahead and chose an entree from three choices. I went with the Quiche Lorraine which was delicious. Others selected either chicken salad on a croissant or Spinach & Mushroom Quiche. They accommodated our group of 25 in a side dining room. Everyone said they enjoyed their meals. We walked through the main dining room which was decorated with a French motif and had the feeling of dining outdoors under the Eiffel Tower. There is plenty of parking along side of the building or across the street.

It was overpriced and not good. Ordered croissants they were stale and not fresh. I ordered cookies, and the dough was raw! I called to speak to a manager, and they couldn't get a hold of one he took my number and said they would call me back they never did that was a week ago! Emailed them twice and never heard back. Horrible customer service. The people who work there didn't even know what all the pastries in the case were. My kids got sick from their pastries don't eat here.
