Taste of Mumbai once located at KBM commissary kitchen has replaced the old Yen Wor Villiage restaurant in West Seattle's Admiral District. Food is delicious. Service was super fast! I loved every dish! Saag paneer creamy and spicy. Chicken tika masala had lots of meat in a tangy , creamy sauce. Aloo gobi was ok, needed a little salt. Overall a very pleasant and lovely dining experience. The owners are kind and welcoming. I am so thrilled that Taste of Mumbai is within walking distance of my home! I'll be back for sure!

Before we go into the review, I want to give a PSA.India is about the same size as the European Union, and is home to hundreds of different diverse cultures. Walking into an Indian restaurant and expecting the same thing at each restaurant is like walking into a Cajun restaurant and expecting Chicago Deep Dish. This restaurant looks like it gets its influence from Kerala, which is a South West Indian state. This means the food will be meat and seafood heavy (fish and goat), be less dairy heavy, be less sweet, and have stronger spices. If you are expecting the type of butter chicken or Tikka masala that you get at Punjabi inspired Indian Restaurants, it won't be the same. The dosas will also be different from the types you see at the more common Tamil inspired Dosa places in Seattle.Quality: Loved the paneer Tikka masala and the masala Dosa. The Tikka masala gravy is not sweet, unlike the typical gravy you get in Seattle, which is a nice change. The Masala Dosa is thicker than most, but still crispy.Quantity: pretty good, always come super fullService: Suresh is a great server, super friendly and always has great suggestions.Price: more expensive than other Indian places, but within range for West Seattle.

I ordered the paneer masala and garlic naan. The portions were ok, but for the price I would have liked more. The paneer reminded me of cheese curds with their squeaky sound and you chew. The naan was a little sad. I've never had a dry naan. But I'm assuming it was a busy shift, so I'll be trying again.

Excellent Indian food. Friendly and responsive service. Not like the same old Indian food you get in Seattle. This feels regional, distinct, and very good. Definitely the best Indian food in West Seattle.

SO FREAKING DELICIOUS. Fresh, flavorful, with a robust menu that includes a large vegan section with tofu as an option for every dish.Cannot say clearly and enthusiastically enough how delicious this food is.

Went to Taste of Mumbai after work on a thursday night. The restaurant was empty at around 5pm but I noticed they had a lot of take out orders. The staff was amazing and seated me promptly.I cannot express how happy I am with their service and patience while explaining the menu.My party of 3 ordered the Veg Samosas, Chicken Biriyani, and Butter Chicken Pizza. All the food was a 5/5 for us, we got medium spice for the biryani which was perfect (careful, it builds up!)Lastly the Mango Lassi and Lychee Lassi were so yummy. It was such a huge glass that I had to take the rest home for dessert. Can't wait to come here again to explore more of their menu.

Taste of Mumbai has been my go-to Indian food in West Seattle for over 4 years. Tonight I had one of my favorites: Saag paneer. And my favorite garlic naan. Unfortunately both were not up to the usual standards I cannot even give them more than one star it was so disappointing. The saag was watery, not creamy and lacked flavor/spices with the usual consistency it literally just drained through the rice. And the garlic naan was doughy and had very little garlic flavor to it. Sadly I was so looking forward to this meal it's been quite a while since I had ordered from them but something was off and I don't know if they regular staff was off work or how to explain this. It makes me want to not even try to go back. The photo I took shows how the Saag l with water not cream pooling in the bowl.

New to west Seattle and found this gem. A lot of South Indian options if you are a fan. My favs are Aviyal, Goan fish curry and any rolls. Egg plant tamarind curry was so flavorful. It's open till late night and sures serves us well. It's a comforting place as well. Not so noisy. So you can chill.
