Tarbell's The Tavern

As always staff was very attentive . The wine was excellent and the entrees were delectable. Indescribably full of goodness .The desert was a let down . We order strawberry shortcake ! We thought it would be very light , fluffy !Wrong ! Strawberries, whipped cream between a slab of ???? Top dried out , bottom had taste of uncooked paste not a drop of strawberries coulis was not eatable. After 2 bites we ask the bus lady to wrap it for us . Did not see waiter . We took it home and threw it in the trash ! Awful. Atmosphere was wonderful they accommodated for a quiet place where conversation could take place .Previously had 5 stars meals at Tarbell's not this time !!!Need new pastry chief ???

I loved The Tavern for dine out, though I also enjoyed my table there. Personally, I've fallen for their classic patty melt on toasted rye with sautéed onions. Their classic cheeseburger, pictured below (as a double) is OUTSTANDING!They also make a brilliant coconut cream pie!Recently there were some take out issues, but they were quickly and thoughtfully addressed.

Excellent moderately upscale & classy restaurant choice in the area - especially for their double burger which is outstanding. The Tavern has a Hillstone type feel with American food, solid cocktails and an extensive wine shop with unique and rare wines as well as tequilas. The bartenders are always well trained, friendly and make top notch drinks. The biggest complaint from making it a 5 is the value. With the El Tesoro Margarita at $22 and the double burger with no sides at $24, be prepared to pay up.

I wish I had stopped in this place sooner! I've seen it so many times but for some reason just never checked it out.So glad I finally did. Amazing selection of wine. The beautiful part is you can go browse and select a bottle of wine in The Wine Store (they're connected), and then have it uncorked in The Tavern and enjoy a glass (or bottle) with your food. The staff in The Wine Store is extremely helpful and versed in the wines to help you pick out something you'll love. I tried the thin fries and they were a perfect snack with my wine. Also I only got a half order and it was more than enough for just me! Not pictured-I had their homemade coconut cream pie to go so I could indulge at home in privacy lol...don't even get me started. It's SO good. It reminds me of my great grandmothers coconut cream pie so it was instantly comforting. Also the staff was super friendly and I went with their recommendations and wasn't dissatisfied!

The best place in Az! Incredible wine, service, and food to go with the wine!!We come 3 times a week!!

Very solid food and drink selection! One of our favorite spots! Always looking forward to going back when we can!

Awesome service and great food. The waiter was awesome and attended to all of our needs. A bit pricey but the food was great.

Very nice decor. Staff is amazing. Waiters and hostess could not be better. Menu is to be desired. The price doesn't match the options. Definitely not worth the price paid for a sandwich! The thick cut fries are excellent. If you do go?

Food is always so fresh and delicious. The waiting staff is kind and attentive! This is one of our favorite date night restaurants that we return to constantly and it just gets better and better!
