Taqueria Tejupilco

So essentially this place kind of SUCKS. Look I am not trying to be a negative person & it was Cinco De Mayo so maybe it was just because of the holiday, but we literally waited an HOUR for 7 tacos. Read that again- we waited an hour. We went so far as to ask the workers why it was taking so long and they just shrugged and then did not move our order up at all. Very small place & we suffered. The food was decent (got steak, chicken, vegetarian, tongue, al pastor) Really the only highlight was that they gave us free chips and quac (granted we did ask) So yeah I'd SKIP if I were you. Might have better luck at Caesar's down the street, which is saying something.

We popped into this neighborhood spot because we thought the outside looked so cute with the painting. We ordered a small burrito dinner, and were charged for a large burrito dinner. The food itself was disappointing, but we were served promptly. The burrito was loosely wrapped, came apart immediately, and was very greasy. Each bite released more grease. I stopped eating after the fourth bite. The rice and beans were fine.

Super affordable place (especially given the location in the heart of Lincoln Park) and also very delicious as well!We ordered the large chicken quesadilla (5/5), the two taco dinner with rice and beans (4/5), steak torta (5/5) and the horchata (5/5). I especially loved the chicken quesadilla as the chicken was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. It's a pretty small shop with only a total of 4 tables (2 two person tables and 2 four person tables). Very fast and efficient service as well!

Food was great! We had the steak burrito and gaucomole. Both were delicious! Place is smallAnd homey. Love the service here!!!

Arrived in Chicago and came straight from O'Hare to this place to have dinner with my family in Lincoln Park at their recommendation and it was spot on. Amazing authentic sauces and fresh home made chips. The guacamole was delicious and large to share. Everyone had a different dish and I chose the chipotle chicken tacos with lime cilantro rice and reformed beans. The portion was very nice sized and very tasty and I was very happy with my choice. Paired perfectly with an ice cold Bohemia in a frosty pint glass. Other favorites were the carne asada, chicken enchiladas, and mushroom quesadilla. Highly recommended!!!

Since it's National Taco Day, it felt like the perfect time to try this new taqueria in Lakeview East. The food was fresh, tasty, and authentic. The service was efficient and the ambiance is very simple. There are a few tables for dine in, but it seems like a lot of people are doing takeout. We tried several tacos and both agreed that the carne asada was the best. The others, chicken, al pastor, birria, and chorizo were all good, too. The two salsas were very tasty and had the right amount of kick. Pro Tip: the tacos come with only cilantro and onion, so we each ordered a vegetarian taco and scooped a bit of that filling onto each of the other tacos for some additional sabor. Support your local taqueria and give these guys some love. ¡Viva Los Tacos!

Quick service, good prices, delicious food and salsas. The tacos al pastor were my favorite. The sopes and quesadillas were good too!!!

Amazing! So, I just left this place and I came because of the awesome reviews. The restaurant did not disappoint. I ordered al pastor, Birria, and chicken tacos. Each one was amazing and fairly priced. The tacos were filled with the right amount of meat. The al pastor and birria were my favorite. Also, the cashier was super sweet in taking my special request.

The beans were amazzzzzing. Highly recommend, gf and I got tacos. Moist delicious and juicy

Not bad not good, just average. Saw the high rating so of course we had to try it. Carne asada was a bit chewy.
