I am reviewing for their Orland Park location at 15609 Harlem Ave. I first tried them at the Taste of Orland event, delicious, flavorful al Pastor tacos! So much so that I went to their Orland Park location to have it again along with their Quesabirra, which I highly recommend! The meat in both were very flavorful and tender, you just know those meats were well marinated, so good! And guess what, they have a drive through in Orland, so convenient! The Orland location is small, not many tables but the food is fantastic! Plus it's a family owned business and who doesn't like to help out small businesses! Highly recommend!

Taqueria los Comales is considered to be the first taqueria in Chicago; they have several locations throughout the Chicagoland area, and they're known for their tacos.I had heard that they serve up a great chimichanga - note that each location has a slightly different menu, and it seems as if this location in Pilsen may be the only one that offers it?I decided to dine-in, as no one wants a soggy chimichanga. My server was nice and efficient, but it seems as if the waitstaff tag-teams, so you'll have different individuals bringing out your drinks, the meal, etc.I ordered the Chimichanga Dinner - protein choices include steak, chicken, pork & onions, flank steak, steamed beef, tripe, Mexican sausage (aka, chorizo), and dried beef; I opted for the steak (carne asada). The chimichanga is filled with refried beans and cheese, and comes with a side of lettuce, tomatoes, and slices of avocado, with also refried beans topped with cheese and rice.I did request my chimichanga to be extra crispy, which they delivered. The fillings were okay - I thought the steak bits could have been more flavorful and more juicy, and the chimichanga could have been a bit more greasier? I felt it was a little dry.The side of refried beans, which I usually enjoy, along with the rice were both more on the colder end; if they came out piping hot, it would been better. The shredded lettuce were wilted and didn't seem as fresh; avocado slices were generous and well-ripened.There are bottles of salsa on the table, along with hot sauce; it had a nice kick and was a good complement to the chimichanga.I also tried their horchata, which comes in 2 sizes; this was more on the sweeter end.A small cup of sliced limes were served; maybe better for those who are eating tacos; I did notice, however, these were a bit dried out.In terms of paying, you just walk up to the cashier and let them know your table number; there is a charge for those who are using card, so bring cash! The restaurant was actually more spacious than I thought; there were several parties dining in, but there was a constant flow of those doing carry-out orders.Regardless, getting here was pretty simple, as it's near the UIC/medical center area. They do have a designated parking lot behind the restaurant, but you'll have to get onto 17th Street to access it; then, you'll just have to walk through the alley to get to the entrance of the taqueria. My search for a great chimichanga continues!+dried-out sides+friendly service+designated lot in the back

This place has amazing authentic food at a quality price. It's rowdy, it's divey, it's grounded. The restaurant lets the food speak for itself, and doesn't try to use flashy aesthetics or a fancy atmosphere to distract from the quality.Great service, warm atmosphere, and amazing food. They have a huge variety of menu items, from burritos to tacos to flautas to huaraches. The portions are great, the prices are great, the atmosphere is friendly, it's truly a slice of Pilsen heaven.

I was in Chicago for a long layover and on a whim decided to catch up with a friend in town for a few hours. We ended up at Taqueria Los Comales for some delicious tacos and a refreshing jamaica. The place was bustling with Spanish-speaking patrons. We placed the order at the counter and got our delicious tacos in no time. Nothing fancy just delicious flavors. Meat is well cooked with fresh cilantro and onion toppings. Perfect place for a quick late night catch up.

I'm in between a 2 and a 3, but erring on the lower end. I ordered via Uber eats and the food took almost twice as long as originally estimated to arrive. I ordered a taco Al pastor and a tres leches cake that never arrived, and instead I got a flan which I didn't order and didn't want. I also did get an option to choose the drink that I wanted with my quesabirria, and they ended up giving me a drink that I don't like. The quesabirria tacos arrived completely falling apart, which I understand they may not travel well. The consommé and the filling were fine, but it didn't blow me away. The grilled onions were good but I feel like it's hard to mess those up. The chips and salsa were disappointing; the chips were criminally undersalted and the salsa, while they did give a lot, was a little too much like El Paso grocery store salsa. Would not order from here again.

I randomly came here in between destinations. The chips were so fresh and crispy the Quesabirria were stuffed with meat and I was surprised to find crunched up noodles in the juice dipping. Everything was a 10. Spicy juice, Juicy meat. One of the best in Chicago. I sat down alone and was checked up on respectfully.

I absolutely love this place. It's truly a no fuss establishment. You get in and you get out, feeling absolutely amazing. My go to is usually al pastor and chorizo paired with both salsas and the pickled vegetables they have available at every table. The service is always great and quick. This is a neighborhood establishment that serves affordable food. Anytime in the Pilsen, I always plan a visit.

I can't recommend this place enough... I've gone to several Los Comales restaurants and this one was just as good. I moved to the neighborhood a few weeks ago and this was our very first option of food to eat at. The portion were good and the staff was friendly. They also had specials going on which is cool and made me think about trying something new. We ordered a Heart Shaped Torta (Valentine's Day) and a Carne Asada Taco Dinner and it did not disappoint. I could literally go here everyday and order the same thing & be very happy. Also, added a Horchata to the mix and it was heaven. It total we paid about $35 without tip. The vibes were good and we are definitely going to be back for more. Thank you Los Comales!Personal Review: 8.6/10

This place was very busy, I got the only open table that was available. As you walk in you don't need to wait for someone to seat you , You just sit yourself. The waitress was very friendly and very patient while I looked over the menu. She brought everything out promptly. I don't think she understood fully what I ordered so she gave me the full dinner meal which was unexpected. A lot more food than I had imagined. The tortillas were very hot, fresh, soft and steamy! The food was absolutely delicious! Probably one of the top five Mexican foods I've had in my life !
