Affordable great tasting tacos in Gaslamp area! They also open super late on the weekends! Not the best tacos I've ever had, but for sure great in the Gaslamp area and prices are excellent for Gaslamp too. They do fill up the tacos with meat! They do not skimp like other locations downtown. They also have a great variety to meats: asada, chicken, al pastor, carnitas, birria, tripe, and vegetarian (cactus). We always find ourselves here at some point while in the Gaslamp area for Comic Con. They have some indoor seating and outdoor seating. The condiments are also out so you can easily help yourself. Soda drinks and water are also self serve which I like. Tacos are $4 and $4.75 with cheese. They also serve burritos ($14.50) and loaded fries ($14.50) which are both very filling also. Would I come here again? Of course! It is great tasting cheap eats a 5 minute walk from the Convention Center. We always come here at some point during Comic Con!

Overall 4/5 - No-frills taqueria with flavorful tacos and good prices, located in gaslamp quarter. If I am in the area again, I will be back! Food 5/5 - DELICIOUS and TASTY. We ordered: - California burrito- Tacos: Al pastor, Carne asada, Carnitas, and BirriaThe food is a good price point, and portions were just right. My husband ordered cali burrito, and he loved it. My friend and I ordered tacos and we both agreed these were some of the best tacos we've tried. The birria was flavorful and juicy. The carnitas was crispy, and the carne asade + al pastor were juicy and smoky. The tortillas were yummy too, and i think they make them fresh there. The tacos come with an avocado sauce/guac on top which was the perfect touch to the tacos. We were really happy with the meat portion in the tacos, there are places that skimp on the meat, but this place DOES NOT. We ordered 3 tacos each and were pretty full but the end! Service/Ambiance 3/5 - This is a small, fast, casual taco place. As long as you keep this in mind and are okay with that, then you will have a great experience. When you order, you have to pay right away. They cashier gives you a number card and you go find your own table/seats. We sat outside. The table was rough looking (very wobbly since the base was missing a leg) and it was dirty. We were a laid back group, so we didn't mind wiping it down and just staying there.

The taqueria is excellent with their specialty; Mulitas and cheese tacos. They were delicious as the carne asada smoky flavor could be tasted. The tripa was juicy and scrumptious. Their guac on top of the tacos is the finishing move to my satisfaction. Loved it. Nothing fancy but they got it all covered.Overall, it gets a 4.9 out of 5. Will try their burritos next time!

In town for Comic Con again this year, had to get my carne asada fix. Ca. Has the best Mexican food in the country and SanDiego Mexican food is the best of the best! Especially because of places like Los Chuchys! We had carne asada tacos, burritos and a chicken burrito... man they are so dang good!! Service was great, fast and efficient. The burrito was huge and oh so delicious.... Try this place out folks, you won't regret it...

Cute, casual spot in Gaslamp. Friendly service and delicious food. The carne asada has great flavor and is tender. I ordered the California burrito and it stood apart from others because of the carne asada. It was a good size, a little pricey - but worth it.

Came here around 3pm over the weekend so it was pretty empty - but everyone was super nice and friendly. My food came out very quickly.I ordered a cactus mulita and carne asada taco - both were excellent and came with a great price tag as well. Both items were extremely loaded with food - they definitely give you your money's worth of the protein option. I was slightly nervous that this would not be enough food for a full late lunch but I walked away extremely full. I also loved the different options of toppings that you can get from the toppings bar - the salsas were delicious and I was very happy with the pickled carrots as well. Overall, would strongly recommend if you wind up in Gaslamp.

I gave it 4 because honestly, I don't have anything to compare it to. But I will say that the food was smackin! Can't go wrong with a California Burrito and the al pastor street taco I had was pretty juicy and delicious. Los Chuchys stays open late too, so big ups go Taqueria Los Chuchys! There were two or three more spots down the street, but this seemed way quicker to get food at. There were like two across the street that had bars and a sit-in vibe. I definitely will be back.

this is a decent place for grabbing food after a night out or if you happen to be in the area! i wouldn't say the food is absolutely mind blowing, but it is solid and tastes pretty good. i got the birria tacos, and they were okay. for me, the star of the show was the free marinated carrots in the salsa bar! they were very well seasoned and perfectly complemented my tacos. i would come back again if i happened to be in the area, but otherwise i likely wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
