My family and Taqueria Del Sol go waaaay back. TDS catered my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary 30+ years ago, one of my sister's quince, and we pop in from time to time when in the area. It's been a while, so after a visit to the Houston Botanic Garden with mi madre, we swung by TDS for some eats. I got the Del Sol Bowl complete with chicken fajita and seasoned veggies over lettuce. The veggies were great! The portion was hefty. The chicken was just overcooked and very, very dry. My mom ordered the chile relleno that didn't have much batter. It was more of a chile covered in soggy batter that was falling off. Major disappointment. Service was prompt, the salsas were hot, and the agua de jamaica was good. I'll go back but only to revisit the breakfast tacos.

One of the more popular mexican food establishment in Houston. After seeing all the good reviews, i decided to try this place out with my friend. When I came around 1 pm ish, it was not that busy. The ambience and vibe were pretty nice, nice seatings too. On to the food, I ordered 1 Al pastor taco and 1 Chicha verde Taco, and 1 Asada Carne Burrito. OMG the burrito was really huge! I think its enough to share for 2 people... the taste was good too but i felt like the Tacos meat were a bit dry, maybe cooked for a lil bit too long, but overall pretty good. Server was attentive and nice. Price was affordable. Overall, worth it and you should go try this place...Food 7/10Place 7.5/10Service 8/10Price 8/10

It's just the best. The service is excellent. The place is always packed with a crowd of families, friend groups, etc. who are very open and welcoming non-Mexicans like myself. My waitresses are always super friendly and helpful. I have dietary restrictions and the staff handles them well. Vegetarians: the nopales (cactus) tacos & the poblano and cheese tacos bring me to tears when I've been away from Houston too long and finally get to be around quality Mexican food. The horchata is simple and tasty. The food is cheap, the chips are fresh (and free), the salsa is spicey (and free), and *chef's kiss*. The atmosphere: the place is always busy & lively. The murals and general vibes showcase both indigenous and newer aspects of Mexican culture with a light blend of Houston culture. There's a panderia (bakery) attached to this place and the restaurant itself also sells lucas (tamarind candy) and other classic packaged snacks if you end up wanting a lil something for the drive home.

The customer service needs to be trained again because obviously they weren't trained well enough. The waiter rudely mocked my friend for not being able to pronounce a word to the waiters liking. Now we believe in nicely correcting someone, but mocking someone is a big no. They need to fix that customer service.

SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE, not one not two, but 4 different staff checked on my party of Six as we were patronizing the restaurant. The salasa has some kick to it and the chips are nice and warm when they arrive at your table. The drinks are huge, luckily it's not a lot of dead time in between getting drinks, ordering, and kitchen to plate on the table. There is additional parking in the back, if you are driving by and think it's only a small piece of parking you will miss out on this gem, you can't miss the gigantic yellow building full of tasty goodness.

Came here for dinner with a friend. Before coming I'd searched yelp and decided I would try the gorditas tampiqueñas but I also ordered the chicken flautas so I could taste one more thing. Both were good-I needed a to-go box and each meal reheated and tasted good days later. Servers were really nice and expedient. The place was busy but it didn't feel too noisy or crowded-definitely a place to come and catch up and relax.

This is a small family-owned authentic Mexican restaurant near Houston Hobby Airport. The service by Fernando was excellent and the food was good. Having lived in both Harris and Fort Bend counties for many years, this is one place that feels like home! I had the enchiladas; picadillo, shredded beef, and shredded chicken. The platters come with rice and refried beans with your choice of red or green salsa. The others had similar dishes with flautas and tacos. It was so nice to get off the plane hungry and head right over to eat comfort food. While there's room for improvement on the seasoning, I recommend them.

This is my first time back in years and it's still the same great place where you are taken care of. Food is still great and the pineapple drink is refreshing. Staff is very attentive. Service is quick and it stays busy here. The ambiance is casual and it's somewhat loud. There is plenty of parking here as well.We had fajita, chicharrón and barbacoa tacos. All were very good and filled just right but they are pricier than others. The Gordita was thin but it had meat and cheese. These too were higher than other places especially if you order fajita meat. The only downside was that prices on the menu did not match what we were charged as you can see on my receipt. They could have just said prices had gone up from their menu posted. This is the only reason I only gave 4 stars.

Nice authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. When you walk in the smell of all their sweet freshly baked goodies welcome you on arrival - I wanted to try them all!:D But I came with discipline and ordered the baracho beans and two breakfast tacos made the way you like it. I also appreciated that they offered freshly squeezed OJ too, in which i had to - it cold & flu season. I must say everything was a delight. Looks like a popular spot with the locals as the flow was pretty steady, but not crowded. My meal was good and hit the spot. Surprisingly in this case I liked the salsa served with the tortilla chips more than the sauce served with the tacos, I almost wish I took some to go - maybe next time. But I was in & out in no time. I'd definitely come back when in the area.

One of, if not the, best Mexican restaurant in Houston! From the moment I sat down, we were given quite possibly the best salsa I've ever had. It was full of flavor, definitely house-made, and just the right amount of spice! The restaurant itself is small, but decorated nicely and had a warm, welcoming atmosphere with very friendly staff. I'm always on the look out for great horchata, and this place had some great horchata! I can always tell if it's house-made or from a store bought mix, and this horchata is definitely house-made and delicious!I ordered the enchiladas dinner and my partner ordered the quesadillas. Both of which were very good! Enchiladas came with a great enchilada sauce and a delicious cheese covering the top, with some great rice and beans on the side. My partner's quesadilla was also very good, made with house-made tortillas and delicious chicken. If you find yourself in Houston and on the look out for a Mexican restaurant, you have to come here! The restaurant is attached to a bakery, which smelled absolutely divine, but we ended up forgetting to try it, so I can't comment on how good it is. But if the restaurant is a reflection of the bakery, I'd imagine it is amazing!
