Tandoori Xpress

I have been ordering takeout from here for years. I have tried many other Indian restaurants for takeout, but I think the best balance of taste and value is this restaurant. Unlike many other Indian restaurants in the area, rice is included with the curry entree. The size of the entree is generous, and the ratio of meat to sauce is high. We always order the butter chicken ($17) & chicken tikka masala ($17). I am never sure which is which, but both are so delicious and flavorful.Historically, I have ordered the cheese naan, onion naan, and garlic naan. They are all savory decadent treats (I am drooling just remembering the cheese naan), but with inflation raising the prices of the curry (not just here but everywhere), we have stopped ordering the naans to stay within our takeout budget.Parking is a free shared lot. It is sometimes quite full during weekday dinner hours, but I am always able to find a spot to quickly dash in and grab the food. I have never dined-in so cannot say anything about the ambiance.

i've eaten here for years and they have the best Indian food in poway! i recommend trying the tandoorini chicken,chicken tikka marsala, and mango lassi for the drink. it's to die for. i've known the man at the register for years and he has always taken very good care of me with his great service and his uplifting attitude.The restaurant atmosphere is very peaceful with great choice of music and hilarious artwork. I dine in here twice a week for many years now and i love it!

I ordered from this place three times for the exact same dish, lunch special. I paid 12.93 for the first two times and today when I came in, the other guy told me I have to pay 15.03 this time. I told him the amount is not correct and he seemed so offended. I told him I was charged 12.93 the first two times and I ordered exactly the same dishes, even the same curries. He said its because the previous server was an intern and didn't know what he was doing. While I was talking, he kept interrupting me saying that he doesn't want to argue with me. I asked him what it means on the flyer that you get to choose two curries for the lunch special. He refused to answer while still interrupting me, insisting he doesn't want to argue. Eventually he explained two curries means one veggie and one meat. Where does it show anywhere on the poster???There was nobody waiting in line and he seemed so rushy and wanted to get me out of the store.This place has decent food but such a horrible attitude towards returning customers.Instead of annoying a customer, why wouldn't you apologize for your previous server's mistake, and change your misleading flyer? I did nothing wrong in this situation and definitely have no problem paying this extra 2 bucks. Why would you be such a pain in the ass when dealing with something you obviously had responsibilities for?Update: When we had the conversation, the order was already ready. I opened it just now and it has significantly less curries than yesterday and no salad at all.

Delicious Indian food and at great price. The plate comes with warm naan (flat bread) that melts in your mouth. The service is great and the place is clean and organized. Will be back for sure to try the other plates. Come hungry as the size is large

Chicken biryani is amazing! The best Indian Food in Rancho Bernardo and maybe top 5 in San Diego. Serving portion is a lot. Customer service is outstanding. The place is clean and well arranged. I'm definately going back again.

Came here for lunch with friends for lunch. The food was really good. They even customized the spice of the food. Would definitely suggest the place.

The food, service, and ambiance are amazing at Tandoori Xpress! I go at least 3 times a week and I love the spicy vindaloo. The atmosphere is always clean, welcoming and friendly.

This is our go-to spot locally. Food is always hot and fresh, and of course delicious. First time trying the goat curry and it's outstanding. Friendly and fast service. Would definitely recommend.

Best goat curry in town, best customer service Mr Singh is the best. I come here at least twice a month.
