Zukku Sushi - Lakeland

This used to be Ato, but is just as good.Future Christina, I messed up, so I'm writing this review to remind myself what I like. I forgot that last time I got greens instead of sushi rice. It is an extra $1.50 charge, but it is so worth it. So get the Trio bowl, with greens and ask for the sauces on the side. The sauces are good and I didn't feel like they were too heavy handed, but the fish is fresh enough to shine on it's own so I rather control how much I put on. The fish is fresh and this combination of ingredients is perfection, so I just stick with The Trio every time. It was really fast this time, I got my order a lot earlier than the kids got their chicken tenders and fries. I'm so glad that this food hall has a Zukku. (You probably already know, but in case you don't, this food stall is inside the food hall so if you and your family all like different food, this is a great place to go). I'll definitely get it every time we are at The Joinery.

This restaurant in the Joinery Food Hall changed it's name from "Ato" to "Zukku". When asked why, the cashier said "because there were new items on the menu". The new "Ato" in Winter Haven will stay "Ato" but has the exact same menu as Zukku. So I'm not sure what's going on. I received very poor service my first time here and find no need to return. I ordered a simple iced green tea. They did not fill the cup full. This was as odd as the name change. It tasted fine. I ordered their ginger salad for $5. The woman making the salad did not like her picture being taken. I felt she took it out on my salad. It had a handful of spring mix, half a handful of carrot shavings, then about half a cup of very wet ginger. When she put it in my to go bag, it appeared she intentionally turned it upside down. (She should've put the dressing in a separate container!) I got a big wet mess of a salad, so soggy it shrunk to 1/4 its size. These people need to know service is a portion of the recipe for success. There were plenty of bodies behind the counter, they were bumping into each other. There are too many other options near by who "get it".

Ato/Zukku Sushi had good, fresh food. Love the sushi burritos!I do wish they made more sushi rolls. A+
