Ybor Metro Market

Place was recently purchased by new owners, who completely remodeled the shop. Now 80% smoke shop, 10% grocery, 10% alcohol. Used to be 80% groceries & while it was overpriced-- it was extremely convenient for residents nearby.The first time I came to the remodeled store, I got hosed on a bottle of laundry detergent. The price was double retail. Never again. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt & purchase a much more popular item. Wine. Nope. There's another register over on the alcohol side.. I went to purchase a bottle of wine with cash but that register doesn't accept cash & apparently it was too much trouble for cashier to ring up sale on the cash register so he got a $4 tip. It can't be an accident that the alcohol register is card only. I paid $9 for a carry on, tsa approved, mini bottle of tide on my first visit. Second visit, I paid $16 for an $9 bottle of wine literally anywhere else -- which I was actually okay with -- until my overpaying with cash is a hassle for them bc the liquor side doesn't have a cash drawer so the cashier got a tip. Both trips I have left this shop feeling ripped off, so it'd be kind of insane for me to go back. Lots of my neighbors have complained about the new exorbitant prices as well. So it's def not just me.

I live across the street from this convenient market. They have the essentials and they rotate their inventory. The owner is a really nice guy and enjoy coming in to support him and his business.

Little market in the historic YBOR city. Very close to the Hillsborough Community College. There was many apparent near that location. It is at the Quarter Condominium. Just at Palm Ave and 19 Street. The apple map has them at opposite corner at wrong location. But is close to see it. We were in search of Le' Ann's Cheesecake. They carry 4 flavors here. I have coffee cheesecake and my wife has the strawberry cheesecake. These cheesecake come in jar. The store carry many type of wine if you want a retail wine. They also has deli section that you can order the sandwiches. I have seen the black bean patty there for veggie burger assembly. Hmmm. Just wonder are they good. The store Clark is very friendly. We were welcome by them and help by them. If you need somethings quick in YBOR, this may be you place.

Solid 5 Stars. I live in the building here in Ybor and appreciate the extended convenient hours, very good basic selection of groceries (incl. wine/beer), and the deli with excellent home cooked foods, sandwiches, wraps, and smoothies. The best part is the prices are comparable to Publix-no significant mark up or price gouging which makes this the best kept secret in this area of Ybor. The next closest grocery store, hard to believe is the Bayshore Publix. Abdul and the usual staff are friendly and very welcoming. This is a great place for lunch at the deli or just picking up usual groceries while in this area of Ybor.

I wish I could leave ZERO stars! The staff is unbelievably rude. I will never drop another dime in this store as long as I live.

The owner has terrible customer service. Always makes me feel unwelcome, like I'm inconveniencing him. I will take the 5 minute car ride to the nearest gas station then the 5 second walk here. Which stinks.Very disappointed

The cookies here are incredible. I seriously do not understand how such a humble place produces bake goods of this caliber.The staff here takes convenience to a whole new level, but I was a little off put by the absurdly priced sunscreen, which I felt was taking advantage of the color of my skin with the pool in such close proximity.

Abdul is rude, most things are over priced. I once nicely and calmly asked Abdul to not stare at something that was going on outside of the store because I simply felt very uncomfortable and he would not and continued to creep. As soon as I nicely asked him to not watch, he instantly started yelling and saying that he owned the store and owned me and that he could buy me. He has never given me good costumer service since. He did not like the way I handed him my card one day and started instantly yelling at me. I told him sorry, I did not intend to. But I also asked that next time that I feel uncomfortable in a situation that he respects my wishes outside of the store. He said he wouldn't listen to a women. He even took a pack of m&ms and threw them at me, hitting me. Same thing with my keys that were on the counter. He even went as far to say that if I was in his family like a sister or a friend he would punch me in the face. He has anger issues and has still never apologized for throwing and hitting me with keys and m&ms.
