Windward Bar and Grill

I feel kind of guilty giving this place five stars when it's the first time I've ever been here. However we walked in just to grab a quick bite. I appreciate a bartender/server who can make a recommendation (when you say-like I did-I like IPAs and I don't have any preference and she just brings me one. Free Dive fromTampa that was just outstanding. I also ended up talking to all the locals and saw their food come out of the kitchen and for a bar and grill it was surprisingly upscale. The place was packed which also said a lot. My husband ordered the chicken wings and french fries which you think seem to be boring and standard but the fries were excellent. I ordered a wedge salad ($11) and a side of grilled steak ($9 add-on) Again was very surprised that ordering medium rare resulted in a medium rare steak coming out with my salad which was huge. I wish I'd taken a picture. We saw the quesadillas come out and they looked exceptionally delicious. The locals here were raving when I asked them their opinion. The service here was beautiful. Bartenders were engaging with all the customers and you can tell this is a place for regulars however since I'm not a regular it was still a very good experience. Friendly for sure!

Try the 3 Daughters local St. Pete Blonde and the Daytona wings. Hidden gem I found waiting for my gf to get her nails done at Color Nails Spa two doors down. Great food. Great daily specials. Great/Friendly service. You can tell it's well run and quality! Loved it. Highly recommend

We haven't been to this place since before the pandemic. Nice little local place hidden but apparently the locals all know it's here cuz it was pretty crowded today. We started off with the potstickers and the sauce was amazing. Moved on to the mahi-mahi tacos and again it was a sweet surprise! My brother-in-law got the burger one of his favorites bacon cheeseburger. It looked very yummy! We ended with some wings and the only thing I can say is improve your blue cheese dressing. It was lame compared to everything else we had. Service was great and Jessica was very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend we will be back!

Food is awesome! Their specials are always great. Bar is very well stocked with Angels Envy rye etc. service staff are very attentive and polite as well as engaging!

Place is off the main path and so glad we found it. Great waitstaff. Ordered the meatball sub and cheese pizza and both were really good!

Went with our kids not realizing it was more of a bar scene but the calzone was fantastic and the salads were good!

We are visiting on vacation.. we were recommended by a bartender at a hotel for this place. It was amazing! It was busy inside but we had a spot outside. The nachos were out of this world, full of flavor and deliciousness. I got a Cesar salad with chicken and it was flavorful. My partner got a juicy burger that was to die for. Service was quick despite being busy, a great hidden gem for tourists.

My wife and I were in Clearwater back in December and we are definitely people that rely on yelp for good food and the Winward bar and Grill came up as a good pick. We went had a couple drinks and got the chicken wings which were really good and the pizza the pizza wasn't that great but it's obviously not a pizza kind of restaurant so next time we go back, we will just stick with wings and something else..

Excellent local place. Service is awesome. A great place to visit and enjoy a drink and a nice bite of food
