Wild Sassa

Tried to stop for lunch on Thursday, 1/30/2025 and it was closed. Not sure what's up with that but need to update the hours.

We live in Homosassa and didn't know about this little place until Dawn posted a review on it. We tried it out today and enjoyed every delightful bite. We met one of the owners she's funny and a good time. The service was great and friendly. The place is clean and the decor is upbeat and happy. We got fish and shrimp tacos they were both very very good. Lots of meat on the tacos. We will be back

Where to start with this place!! Great lil spot by the water. Sit outside where the fisherman play- great view of boats and the Homosassa River. Owned by a great couple, both Veterans. I hate that I forgot their names, because I went back twice! -But I did, sooo please forgive me. They both cook from their hearts! Passion shows in every basket served out the window! The one lady has the history, the hot spots, she is the "know" of Ol Homosassa.. Now to the food. As I mentioned I went twice- first time I got both sets of tacos- fish (Mahi-mahi) and steak. Yum Yum YUM! Great dipping sauces- again I know she told me what they were but I was so into my food I couldn't remember over the yumminess. They make everything fresh (again on the water) she mentioned how she picks or buys local of her ingredients!! Super plus!! They also include fresh fruit on the side to balance your tastebuds. One they serve is a sweet cantaloupe that I could eat all day long! They offer two Hot Sauce: one peppered from St. Augustine, extended family of theirs- the other local hot,and it definitely had some heat behind it (I mixed the two which was perfect!!) The next day I went back to get a quesadilla I saw another guest eating lol- OMG! I got the shrimp one and I couldn't stop, crunchy, oooewy gooooewy cheezy! (I wish I had photos but after leaving there I went on the water and lost my phone LOL-) I'll will be returning! When in the area stop by and have some amazing food, views, and conversation!

Let's taco 'bout it. Wild Sassa is a local scratch kitchen food trailer run by two driven women...serving tacos, quesadillas, sandwiches, "boats", chowder & more. As you walk up to the colorful, rustic canopy to place your order, you're greeted by the inviting aroma of sizzling steak & fresh seafood. With the unique blend of Mexican & American inspired flavors, riverside views, cozy & eclectic charm...it's clear why Wild Sassa made it into Yelp's Top 100 Taco Spots. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Bridgette, who as busy as she was, happily delivered the hand crafted tacos to our table when they were ready. My favorite nosh was the Tuna Taco-seared sushi grade yellowfin tuna, crunchy homemade slaw, fresh cucumber salsa, shredded queso fresco, juicy lime wedge & drizzled Asian soy vinaigrette nestled in a grilled flour tortilla. I can't wait to nosh my way through the menu. EAT WILD!

Every dish is simply delicious. Very few foodservice operations are better than this one.

Service is friendly and busy. Everything is made fresh and to order. You can sit at the outdoor tables and watch the river. We started with a cup of stone crab chowder. It's delicious and a must if they have it. My wife ordered the mahi sandwich and it was so good . It had a good amount of mahi. It was cooked perfect. I had the shrimp tacos that are amazing. I always love those tacos. We will try to get a shrimpy burger next time.

The place to support!!!Location is a little hard to fine.....but when you do it is the perfect spot!!!Walking up to the truck you instant get the fee of an owner that cares and they go that extra step to make sure they deliver quality.So hard to decide on what taco to get... so I got one snapper and one shrimp.. she gave me both sauces!!Yummm...Husband has the seared yellowfin boat...Lots of meat and seared just right.. not over cooked.Make sure to grab some stone crab chowder...We were going to have it for dinner but the amazing smell in the car made us try some and we ate it all!!!

Great little spot in Homosassa for lunch. We had the red snapper tacos and the mahi mahi sandwich for $15 each, both were very good! Parking was difficult but we found a spot. Definitely recommend :)

What a cool place located right on the water in Homosassa. It's a good trailer but the food is fantastic. You order and it's all made to order and fresh. I had the red snapper sandwich and my friend had the shrimpy burger boat. It came with a couple pieces of fruit. Both were so fresh and delicious. I love the decor, and there are several tables to sit outside and enjoy your meal. Definitely will return to try some different fresh seafood dishes.

Absolutely the best food in the area! The shrimpy burger is the best sandwich I have ever eaten! If you want some fantastic food, especially fresh cooked seafood food this is the place.
