This place does a fantastic job on all ads. The food is wonderful and the service comes with a smile and it doesn't take long to get your food. My favorite thing is probably the ambulance. It reminds me of home. This place has a Miami Field. The sandwiches are wonderful and the service is awesome. I love coming here and bringing guests. You can't come here and not have a sandwich.

If you're following because you're gluten-free, then turn your head away from this review. I have gluten-sensitivity (not Celiac Disease) so I can occasionally have gluten with the help of digestive enzymes.I have only had Cuban sandwiches from West Tampa Sandwich when coworkers picked up lunch for my department. So this review is solely for the Cuban sandwiches. I can't say if this is the best Cuban Sandwich in Tampa Bay. It's up there though. I can't say much on the service or Ambiance because I was never at their restaurant. The Cuban bread is perfectly toasted on the outside and filled nicely with ham, pork, Swiss cheese, mayo, mustard, lettuce and tomato. In pretty sure there are more ingredients in this Cuban sandwich than the original version, but it works. Plus, I'm all for sneaking in veggies whenever possible.

When in Tampa the West Tampa sandwich shop is a must-visit. Plenty of places offer this product in town but few, if any with the vibe of this one. While approaching the location, know you may have to park along the street. Parking should be plentiful otherwise. Once the door is open, you're greeted by a vibrant, noisy environment. If seats are available, you're free to help yourself and servers will approach soon after. For any to go orders you can approach the counter. Being they have a famous honey Cuban sandwich, we opted for that, a chorizo and cafe con leche. All in all it came out to about $22 before tip. After the food arrived, we dug in right away, pleasantly surprised at the combination of the glazed honey on the bread and the harmony with which it blended with the rest of the ingredients. The chorizo was less surprising but satiated me in a more predictable manner. The cafe con leche was considerable in size for the regular, and the flavor and strength were abundant. All in all this place represents all places any body whose visiting should seek if theyre looking for a local experience.

Hole in the wall hidden gem! The workers were happy, chattering in Spanish and English. The food was great, especially for the price! Liked the mango milkshake. Didn't love the croquettes.

Went twice on my visit to Tampa this week. Food is excellent, very cheap, place is clean and service is wonderful. The Cuban sandwich and the salad and the collard green soup and chicken soup were all 5 star. I'll definitely return

When I think about restaurants I love here in Tampa, WTSS is always the first one to pop into my mind. It's such a special place for me because it reminds me of Hialeah where I grew up, with everyone speaking Spanish, delicious Cuban food, and the typical, amazing ambiance of a cafeteria in Miami. I've been going here for as long as I can remember and it's a family staple because of how home-y it feels. I always get an Obama sandwich or a medianoche (Cuban on sweet bread), caldo gallego and a cafecito. Usually a cortadito is my vibe but it all depends on the day! If you're looking for a TRUE Cuban sandwich (none of those weird places that put a bunch of random stuff on them), go to WTSS and order a traditional Cuban. You will not be disappointed!!

I had the infamous Obama honey Cuban ! And it was amazing, I'm not typically a Cuban fan but this one was different, I don't eat them enough to know but I really enjoyed it! I also got a bean soup that wasn't bad but honestly wasn't my favorite kinda lacked flavor and maybe it was kinda cold is what threw me off. But my friend got the chickpea soup and it was amazing!

I saw this spot on TikTok reviewed by a food blogger. I saved it, and I said whenever I made it to the area, I would check it out. So, here we are. Being a seasoned yelper, I read the reviews and knew what I was going to order prior to walking in. I wanted to order The Honey Obama Cuban Sandwich. Now mind you I'm from Houston Texas, where Cuban sandwiches aren't as popular as they are here in Florida. So, this was my first one ever. I entered the address in my GPS and saw that it was less than 4 minutes away from where my appointment was. When I got there it looked exactly like it looked in the photos. Parking wasn't great, but I didn't go during peak hours, so I was fine. But I could see parking being an issue if this place got super busy. It would be one of those things that would deter me from going in and experiencing this amazing sandwich!! I parked right in front of the door and went inside. So inside had that old school lunchtime sandwich shop feel. I'm in my 40's, so to me it had that old childhood feel. I considered dining in, but I had other places to be, and I didn't want to chance it. As you enter, the order counter is to the left and they're patient. I overheard him helping the guy in front of me make a selection. I ordered and they do accept Apple Pay. The sandwich took about 5 minutes to make, and I was on my way.I got in the car and wanted to taste a bite. OMG!! The hint of honey along with the savory meats and cheese was delicious. My sandwich was all the way. I've heard some people say lettuce and tomatoes don't go on "real" Cuban sandwiches. I personally don't know, but I liked the lettuce and tomatoes. The sandwich was a 10 out of 10.

On my most recent visit to Tampa, I was looking for a quick lunch. My buddy in Houston recommended West Tampa Sandwich Shop. He said they have the best Cuban Sandwich he's ever had. I couldn't say no to that. Located in a residential community, they have a small parking lot so I ended up parking on the street. Upon walking in, you'll see this is a casual spot. No frills. Lots of locals and Cuban people. Upon being seated, I looked over their large menu. Naturally, I went with the Cuban sandwich. They have two sizes. I went with large as there wasn't much of a price difference between the two. If you've never had a classic sandwich like a Cuban, you need to get on that. And quickly. The combination of ham, pork, mustard, cheese, and pickles on nicely pressed and toasted bread always delivers. And West Tampa Sandwich Shop does it at a high level. You can taste the quality of the ham. They add mayo to it too. It's a damn good sammie. Along with my soft drink, I also did some ham and cheese croquettes as a side. Another Cuban go-to. Service was a bit slow but they were busy. And it was friendly service too. Definitely check them out for some authentic Cuban!
