Wafu

I was at a plant swap at Ivanhoe Village and the WAFU truck was there. They have a merchandise display that caught my eye.They sell Taiyaki sandwiches that seem to be made of a batter similar to waffle cones filled with sweet and savory ingredients. The waffle is pressed into the shape of a fish. Order 1 for a snack or 2-3 (3/12) for a meal. I had the Toasty which was like a grilled cheese with scallions and black sesame seeds. Simply delightful.My friend had the Anko which is filled with a Japanese sweet bean paste. She liked hers as well.You place your order and wait 5 minutes. There were three of us and our fishes came out pronto.When you order you see WAFU ice cream waffle cones. Visually these are beautiful and unusual flavors. They fill the cones with vanilla or matcha ice cream. If I had not been bundled up for a January day I would have taken a licking.Like them on FB for dates and locations.

I ordered from Wafu Taiyaki when their food truck was stationed at East End Market. They are usually there once a month on a Sunday, but I found out they will be opening up a brick and mortar at East End Market sometime this year!Their taiyaki is delicious- I ordered their grilled cheese taiyaki but I've had their other flavors before. They are super cute and filling, and I even got to try their Cherry Blossom soft serve made from real cherry blossoms! It was perfect on a sunny day (even though the weather was a little chilly).I highly recommend trying Wafu Taiyaki if they pop up at an event near you!

So cute! My partner and I went to the Wafu in the East End Market and it was so delicious and super cute! The employees were very nice my ice cream came out very quickly. My fish waffles did take a little bit but totally worth it and I really appreciated the man behind the counter who told me that it would be about 15-20 minutes. So no problem at all. The ice cream was so creamy, we got the rose and vanilla swirl. The rose flavor could have been a little sttonger but it was so yummy. We also got three fish waffles, the nutella, custard cream, and matcha. They were so delicious and warm. My favorite was definitely the custard cream. I would totally recommend!

Kimchi waffles are my favorite the ice cream is always a hit too!! They are always making fresh waffles so you know it will be good! The ambiance is nice it's a small restaurant so more of a grab and go enjoy it elsewhere. Highly recommend

Ordered a Kimchi waffle, a Custard waffle and a Nutella Waffle. They gave us one Custard waffle and two of what seemed to be some sort of cheese green onion and bacon or ham? So they got one out of three right.The Nutella one was special because we were saving it for dessert after dinner that day and instead we got a nice dessert of green onions and cheese. Nice going.Wait was super long too - twelve minutes wait for the three waffles. Come on.
