This restaurant has been tagged on my save list for a very long time. I finally had the opportunity to stop in during a weekday. My first indicator should have been that there was absolutely no one inside 30 minutes into business and we were the only customers during our visit. The phone rang once and there were no pickups, either. Upon checking in on the Yelp app, I saw some pretty unfavorable things, but still stayed seated to give it a chance. The experience was pretty unfortunate in every sense. Flavorless, rubbery spaghetti polpette (the meatballs were okay) - this was pasta that had congealed. The pepperoni pizza was okay, not worth the price tag. I am a pizza, lover, and every sense, it was pretty disappointing that in the end I took this home and ended up, throwing it out, which is a mortal sin in my book. Service was virtually nonexistent, not like we really needed any, but also when you unceremoniously drop water off at the table and don't fill or turn peoples cups from being upside down, I don't know. It seems a lot to be desired. We were the only ones in the restaurant as previously mentioned, and our server wasn't in a particular hurry to come over and take our order, I actually got up and went and told him what we wanted. They do have little buzzers in the middle of the table that you can call for service or check or what have you. But when you're the only person sitting in a restaurant, that's pretty unnecessary.I felt a little deterred from writing a review, considering that the business manager had some pretty savage commentary for some people's honest reviews. In the end, this was an expensive, optimistic mistake.

It's been years since we were here and it has lost its authentic feel of being in Italy however the food was still pretty good. The gnocchi trio was delicious and tender. The margarita pizza sauce & cheese were good but the crust was floury and too large and we did have to ask for extra basil (it only had one left in the center).

This place used to be owned by a Neapolitan couple but they sold about a year ago. Since then, prices keep going up while the quality goes down. The menu is getting shorter, too. the restaurant was completely empty in my last visit. Service was friendly, but didn't know what was going on. My pizza was absolutely coated in cheap American garbage cheese - pretty bad. Two pizzas and a bottle of basic wine shouldn't be $80.

The term is probably WAY over used, but I can't resist describing Viva Napoli as a "hidden gem"; its a great venue tucked away in a small neighborhood :-)The service is 1st tier, and both their pasta and pizzas are completely delicious!Tip: The portion sizes are quite large, so consider sharing before ordering separate servings.

Unsuspecting place in old Tampa. Friday night and we were pleasantly surprised at the availability. Service was friendly and prompt. Menu was excellent and we had a hard time choosing. In the end my husband opted for the Gnocchi and I had a neopolitan pizza. We took dessert (tiramisu) to go. Huge portion that we could eat and save half for the next day. Ambiance was nice, once again surprising for the location. Will definitely recommend to others.

Was really excited to try this place but a bit disappointed. Ordered a pizza, but the crust was pretty dense and over cooked.

We ended up coming here because our original spot had a very long wait. We chose it based on the good reviews. The restaurant is super cute and all the staff is very sweet! At the table we had the veal piccata, chicken piccata, spinach ravioli and cheese ravioli. Everything tasted very good, however the portion sizes are VERY small. My chicken piccata barely had any spaghetti. My dad got the veal piccata but the meat itself was very chewy, so we sent it back and got chicken piccata instead since my flavor was very good. We waited about 20 min for the chicken to come back. When it did, it was VERY salty. Nothing like my chicken piccata. We ended up having our server take it off the bill. Overall, the portions were small for the price but the flavor was very good. Our experience just wasn't amazing.

We came in around 5:30, there was no one there, so no wait. I have to say it was a bit weird but we decided to try it anyways and so glad we did! The waitress was super nice and she was from Italy and so was the chef. They only have one bathroom. The bathroom floor was a bit sticky. There was plenty of parking, again no one there. Now the food, we got the pepperoni pizza and it was so good! We also got the lobster ravioli and it was really good. The gnocchi trio was great. The pesto was well done, everything was well done. The service was great, the food was awesome. We are definitely coming back, the pizza tasted fresh! I mean everything was fresh.

IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN HERE, PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW!!!I have never left a review before, but after this evening, I felt compelled to. My boyfriend and I are visiting from out of town, and we were in the mood for Neapolitan style pizza. After googling some places, we stumbled across this one. After reading the raving 5-star reviews, we were so excited to come and try! After looking at the menu, my boyfriend and I both ordered the salad w/ the burrata cheese, a margarita pizza and the pizza with prosciutto on top. When the salads came, my burrata cheese was frozen in the middle. Almost like a "slushie" consistency. When the pizzas arrived, I will say the margarita pizza was great. However, the other pizza was cold and the crust was hard. The most insane part of it all was when the check came. $72 for 2 salads and 2 pizzas. Without tip. We both come from the food service industry, so we are familiar with how restaurants price their menu items. Him and I were SHOCKED. I understand that everything is expensive these days, but that was just too much money. We gave 3 stars due to the marg pizza being fabulous, and the fact that it was 1 gentlemen running the entire dining room and the to go station. Needless to say, we will not be back.
