This is definitely a dive bar. I have no opposition to dives & generally like them. This was no exception. There were a few people there when I entered & they were still there about an hour latter when I left. No.problems, everything was fine. When I left it was dark & being unfamiliar with the area, it felt a bit creepy. It definately is in a sketchy area I guess the lesson is, if you are a lone female, I would recommend leaving before dark. What's a girl to do? Dive bar, live bar, any bar....they all have a time & place.

This is a popular lil hangout in this are of NPR. Located in a strip mall by an AutoZone and Dollar General, the Up the Creek Bar fits its name. Two bowling video machines. A rough around the edges but friendly crowd. This is a dive bar.

Wow! I am in a bi racial marriage and I walked in this pub with my wife, and at first, I felt it was a cool place.. the fans where blowing, tv was on, and mind you, it was just me, my wife who is Trinidadian and the bar tender. I guess her boyfriend I'm assuming because she kept calling him "babe" real light weight scrony boy.. everything was cool until his two female friends came in. And I guess he was trying to be a comedian because he was dropping the "N" bomb in every sentence that came out of his pie hole.. little did he know, people get there heads split open for being racist in my book..but I kept my cool..leaving with a bad taste in my mouth.. I'm not from here, meaning this state. Maybe it's cultural to be racist here but no one said anything to shut him up.. I don't recommend this place at alllll! If you have any kind of cultural background.. avoid a fight! Don't go there!
