The Twistee Treat in Dade City has been a staple of the area for many many years. It's kind of interesting the history of the place. It was originally part of a franchise operation of a now defunct company. When that company went out of business, the franchisees that owned Twistee Treat locations were allowed to keep the rights to their buildings and their name. New Twistee Treat parent companies have come and gone (with the current parent company growing and expanding), but this Dade City location is an independent location that has weathered the years quietly on Lock Street. This location has always been really consistent for me. I love their food but their milkshakes are where it's at. I got one yesterday with my wife. I'd been telling her about the place since we met. There are other Twistee Treat locations near where we live, but I told her that I'd only take her to the one in Dade City because it's the best (at least to me). One of my favorite things to order there is the harvest apple milkshake. It's not super sweet, is a little tart, but it's always really delicious. This location's milkshakes aren't ever super sweet and they don't make you feel like you've made a bad decision after drinking one. They're just good, and they make you feel good.Service is usually quick, however the drive through can get backed up at times. It's usually best to see which is more crowded, the drive through or the walk up window, and pick the option that is least crowded. They do take credit cards with no minimums and they do have outside seating if you like that kind of thing. However there is no indoor seating, and if the line is long and they're busy, the parking lot tends to fill up and you may be better off eating your food in your car, or taking it home.

Great place to grab a treat or snack. HUGE menu of ice cream choices including milkshakes, sundaes, twisters, hard and soft serve ice cream, not to mention all the "real food" choices- burgers, sandwiches, fries, nachos, you name it. All for very reasonable prices. We love the shakes and the fried pickles are a must at only $1 for 2 spears. Stop by and try it when you need a pick me up, you'll be glad you did!

Good treat on a hot day. Fast service and quick. Huge servings. Has a drive thru as well. They have several flavors offered for soft ice cream.

My husband grew up in Dade City. He told me that my first experience at Twistee Treat should be at the location that he grew up loving. We enjoyed a Harvest Apple shake. The shake was not heavy but had a gentle apple flavor which was delicious and refreshing. The ambiance is kitschy and delightful. The walk up window service was quick and friendly. They had a full menu of soft serve, shakes, and sundaes. I went to Twistee Treat for the kitschy fun sized cone shaped building but walked away with a good experience and an excellent treat.

The BEST Twistee treat around ! Haven't been to one beating it . There's no other twistee treat that sellsCHEESE FRIES AND THEIR AMAZING BANANA MILKSHAKES ! Cant forget about the mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers for such an affordable price ! Its always worth my hour drive

I've never been disappointed yet. All 3 times I've eaten there the food has been fresh made. The food has been hot. Or cold depending on what I ordered. Friendly people. Very accommodating. Today was burger and fries. The food is made to order so it's not a chain with pre made garbage. Great prices for super food.

Don't know why it says closed permanently, it's open every day except Monday. Yummy soft serve and now they have scoop ice cream too. We love the tornado twister which is basically a McFlurry/Blizzard.

Awesome ice cream and good food! Homemade chili recipe is a must try!! great prices! Family owned and operated. Open late as well.
