Triana Caribbean Cuisine

Good, not great and not something that stands out from the places around that I've tried. Came in with some fellow Yelper's to give this place a shot. Although the company was great, the food fell short. The taco shells were handmade but thick and the taco itself lacked flavor. It was plain and didn't wow me. The beef empanadas didn't have a whole lot of beef filling. The beef flavoring was good. Service was good and the day we went, we were the only diners. They do have daily specials at a bargain for lunch.

standard sit-down restaurant with good Puerto Rican and Dominican food. I dont remember how to call the things that i ate , but it was all good . ill ask my lady what I ate.

I visited Triana Caribbean Cuisine during lunch on a weekday with a coworker. We had never been here before but we're exploring restaurants on Waters Avenue. When we walked in to the restaurant/bar and pool hall, we were the only patrons and didn't see anyone else even employees. A few seconds later a kind woman popped out from the back and greeted us. We do not speak Spanish but she's spoke fairly good English and took us through the menu and offered some options that are very popular and things she really liked. We ended up ordering two entrées and an appetizer. I'm still not exactly sure what I ordered but it was fantastic. It came with a side of french fries, the kind that do not get soggy with perfect crispiness. I really enjoyed my lunch here and would love to return and try additional items on the menu.

It is not yet full 5 stars. It is about 4.5 stars in my book. The reason they are 4.5 stars is the value of the food vs the quality and taste of the food make the list above 4 stars. A reasonable price with decent food. I started with the Guanabana Juice. It has great fruit smell. Mixed with 2% milk make this drink very desirable. We also has the shrimp empanada. This my first time with the shrimp infills. Very interesting. We got the Fish Fritter. The fish is salty fish. It is another interesting dish. Our entree are the tilapia and steak mofongos. Tilapia is ok. The steak is better. The mofongo is good because they are cooking with pork material inside. The mofongo is better than other place I have tasted. Because it is soft and no dry - the key of good mofongo. We end up with home made churros and coconut flan. Great balance of flavor. I will revisit them because they have reasonable price.

After completing a family cruise we spent a day in Tampa and found this gem of a restaurant. The special fruit combo smoothie was magical and the food wonderful. It was like going to Big Mama's house. Chef Tony puts love in the food. Portions were generous, presentation was amazing and the flavor was very special. When in Tampa, make the stop at Triana Caribbean Cuisine for that perfect mashup of flavor, customer service and good eating. Awesomeness takes time, so enjoy the folks at your table, because when the food comes no one will be talking, only the clanking of forks and knives on the plate will be heard.

This place got interesting ambience and delicious food. There are two serious billiard tables and a couple big screen TV along the wall, a bar for drinks and the Latin rhythm salsa music was constantly playing at the background- an ultima party vibe! I'm a big fan of their desserts and fruit drink. We had a sour sod fresh fruit drink -creamy, sweet and delicious. Their homemade coconut flan is the winner. For only $2 , the flan tasted fresh , the extra coconut flake at the bottom made it extra delicious and it garnished with a fresh strawberry! I had an older of churro for $1.5 - 6 pieces of fresh fried churro with some caramel garnish. So good! My first time having shrimp Empanada - good amount of well seasoned shrimp in the crunchy shell- yummy! My entrée was the fish mofongo. The mofongo was very good, however the tilapia fish wasn't fresh. The young lady served us was very nice and attentive. The portion of the food was big. The price was affordable. We ended up packing 2 boxes of leftover. It was fun to eat here.

Food was unbelievably good! Every single item on the menu is perfect and delicious, and the staff was so patient, helpful and kind. By far one of my new favorite places to eat. HIGHLY recommend to anyone in the area

Such amazing food! Worth going out of your way to enjoy some authentic food. Lots of open space and seating. Tony was especially nice helping us chose the best food. The presentation of the food was also amazing, beautiful plates and food

Amazing sancocho, tostones, pescado, platanos y más. Que rico! Excellent service also!
