Tomo Sushi

This is our go to spot for sushi... and not just because it is a 1/2 mile from our house... the kindness of the people, the flavors of the food, the careful preparation of each roll... it's all there.Our meal that we get everytime consists of their Miso soup (without onions), the House Ginger Salad and 2 rolls: Sweet Potato Tempura Roll and Avocado Roll with Avocado on Top, Eel Sauce, Spicy Mayo and a generous sprinkling of Tempura Bits.They always get it right and always provide generous amounts of wasabi and soy sauce for our dipping pleasure.I have been coming here for well over a decade and have been impressed with the consistency and quality of their food as well as their impeccable service levels. We have never had a meal or an experience here that was unpleasant, much less anything short of WOW.Love these folks and their food. Actually let me stop while I'm on a roll...

My wife and I stopped in on a whim after dropping a box at the nearby UPS store. We were immediately greeted by the entire staff of the restaurant upon entering. That said, the place is relatively small. We started with miso and their rangoons; both were fine, honestly, but neither was something that had me craving more of either. For our main, we split several rolls: Arizona (yellowtail, scallion, roe), Tuna+Avocado, Green Dragon (shrimp temp, cream cheese, topped with avocado), and Red Devil (spicy tuna, topped with tuna and paper thin jalapenos). Give thus place a try if you're in the area. Service was a star, food was solid, and atmosphere felt generally authentic.

Location: It is in a strip mall at Bearss and Florida. However it is behind a Marathon Gas Station with stores like La Bahia Bakery among others. Inside is a small but nicely decorated Japanese restaurant.Sushi: I ordered the Spicy tuna, Arizona, and Hawaiian rolls as well as a soda.The sushi was fresh and about average sized maki rolls. The spicy tuna was slightly mushy, but had good flavor. The Hawaii had fresh mango slivers on top which added to the taste. The Arizona roll was ok, but not super memorable. The food was solid 3.5/5The service and prices are what elevate it to 4/5. My server was very polite and was always checking on me. My bill before tax/tip was $28. My normal bill usually is around $33-36 and in this post Big C world, that is appreciated. I didn't really see any roll exceeding $13 which is nice.It seems like this is a place with lots of repeat customers who are loyal.Cons:Closed Sundays (I'm getting tired of Sushi restaurants or Tampa Restaurants being closed on Sundays.)Overall: Not the most mindblowing sushi, but solid with great prices!

Good and service are really good. Not a busy spot. Easy to get in and out. Make the sushi quick! Really tasty with awesome service.

First of all, immediately greeted with warm, friendly smiles and cheerful, genuine welcomes! So refreshing! This was actually a call in order and we took it to go. We both ordered the pick two lunch special. For a very reasonable $15, you get two rolls of your choice from the lunch menu plus a miso soup or a ginger salad. We ordered the spicy crunchy tuna (my least favorite), tuna and cucumber (refreshing), spicy escolar (yum) and Tampa (can't go wrong with fried grouper). The sushi is basic but good. It wasn't the best I've ever had but certainly a good lunch. I was happy with my food and I would eat here again.

I went for lunch today and I had the lunch special Sashimi in this cute restaurant. It was excellent and so fresh. I am very particular when it comes to Sushi! The server was very attentive.I will be back soon.

for a dinner special for 21 dollars vegetarian style it was definitely not what I was expecting I will not be returning. you would expect a full plate for 21 dollars and a dinner at that. It was literally a plate that my 4 year old could eat and finish by himself. And tbh Kobe has this same hibachi style plate for the same price with enough food for damn near two days.... Highly not recommended at all!! Just horrible presentation. The sushi might be a different presentation but their dinner specials are a big NO! And most definitely should not have 4.5 stars there is no way in hell!!

Just ok. Nothing was noteworthy. They pre fry their shrimp for sushi rolls and it's obvious. Won't be going back.

I took one bite and immediately came to the reviews to let you guys know how delicious this sushi is! my partner had the teriyaki beef and he enjoyed his plate as well!
