My mother passed away and we wanted to throw a Celebration of Life event in her honor. I put my info into Bark.com and TLC Embellished called me back. The people I dealt with were wonderful, and, even though there was no time to taste their food, I was assured that "we are very good at what we do". It was a time crunch so I agreed to set the menu based on their sample menu and cross my fingers that everything would go smoothly and the food would be as delicious as they made it sound. Not so. The service was good, they showed up early and set the food up beautifully. Everything looked wonderful aside from the fact that the "white linens" that were supposed to cover the table were actually black non-linens that didn't fit the table I gave sizing for. The food covered that so it wasn't terrible, just not what I was told. The food was another story entirely. Some of the fruit was good, some of it was not - the hard cantaloupe and off tasting watermelon was disappointing. The vodka sauce and the bolognese were not very good but edible. The "filet mignon" that came with the pasta station was absolutely NOT filet mignon. The Fried Mac Bites were NOT Mac Bites at all - they were cheese CURDS - also disappointing. The 3 sandwiches we ordered were made on site and if there was any sauce (horseradish, mayonnaise), it was virtually invisible - so a pile of dry sandwiches on Publix slider rolls were what we received. They mistakenly put the Thai peanut sauce on the chicken satay and when I asked if they had any to put on the side, as originally requested, they said they would "be right back" and. I believe went to Publix to get some. It also wasn't peanut sauce it looked like store bought Thai chili sauce which is not the same thing. Meanwhile their operations base was about 30-40 min from my location so that leads me to believe that they went to the store and grabbed a bottle. The Caesar salad was good but the croutons were added and not on the side as requested - not the worst thing but just not what was asked for. We basically paid for convenience. The invoice stated that "equipment" was $500. I could have rented these chafing dishes and made the food they provided but we obviously didn't have the time. For $1,250 for a group of 25, I think the quality of the food should have been MUCH better. I could have done the whole thing myself for less than $500. I recommend doing a tasting first so you don't have the same experience I did. I feel taken advantage of during a difficult time. The pricing was laughable for what was provided. Also, no response from Steve via text after payment was made. He answered my call the day before the event but when I texted about a difficulty he never responded. Use them at your own risk.

DO NOT HIRE THESE FRAUDULENT PEOPLE. In March of 2024, we contacted Embellished Catering & Events for a Beach Wedding and Military Reunion. My then fiancé was an Army Veteran who served in the Desert Storm war. Their military reunion is every October during Columbus Day weekend. We contacted "Embellished" and some other companies in the Tampa area since the wedding was going to be on Sunset Beach in Treasure Island. After speaking with Steve and receiving a reasonable quote, we decided to hire the family business. Steve was even generous to provide a military discount. We live in the Chicago area so we were planning from out of town. All the communication was via email and phone calls. We specifically asked them if they had experience with beach weddings and of course, they said yes, they do them all the time. They quoted a price for food and an oversized tent for a midday wedding that was within a reasonable budget. We were in constant communication with Steve, Savannah and Jasmine. They told us with our contract and down payment we would get a food tasting and if we did not enjoy it, we would get a refund. I thought I did enough research and their website seemed legit. We drove down in July from Chicago to Florida for a meeting and taste test in a conference room of business office. That should have been our first red flag. However, Savannah and Jason were wonderful and the food was amazing. So we were extremely happy with our choice. We went over table decor and linen. We were so impressed. Then the problems began in August of 2024. They were having issues securing the tent size they promised because our wedding was during turtle season. The EPA would not approve the permits for a large oversized tent on the beach. HOW DID THEY NOT KNOW THIS??? However, they immediately stated they had a solution within our budget. The Garden Club of St. Petersburg was available the same day. Oh I forgot to mention my wedding was just 1 1/2 months away in October. I hired them in April and they tell me in August my dream wedding was not possible. I was receiving RSVPs for the wrong venue. Oh boy, I had to pivot and roll with the punches. So a bigger venue calls for more decorations and chairs inside and outside for a now garden wedding. So it was not in our original budget and we started adding people since it was going to be a sit down dinner indoors. We had to sign ANOTHER contract and pay more money due to the venue change. Then came a hurricane one week before the wedding. Oh boy! Our venue was flooded and the garden was destroyed. Yet still Steve stated he had one more venue to contact. The Commerce Club in Brandon, FL. We were in contact with the site coordinator and she was wonderful. Yet Steve would not return any phone calls for six days. The site coordinator Karrin at The Commerce Club stated she reserved it for us. All she needed was for Embellished to pay the venue and she said he was good for it. I remember like it was yesterday. She said he was a Christian man and she trusted him. She had allowed him to use their premises for food tastings etc. Yet he would not call me back nor provide an updated contract. We received an email, not a phone call, an EMAIL asking us to reschedule our wedding because there was reportedly another hurricane on the way. By this time, we were already in Florida as we traveled a week earlier. I responded, with we are here and I am getting married so if he was cancelling REFUND ME PLEASE. The response was on no we are not cancelling. We were just wanted your thoughts on another date and see you Saturday. The second hurricane hit and guess what The Commerce Club did not have power on Wednesday or Thursday. We were staying in Orlando to be safe. I gave Steve 24 hours to return my call or I was going another caterer that presented itself in the emergency. I should never have mentioned that I had a backup plan, to my back up plan and a third option. Steve called us Friday morning stating the Commerce Club had regained power and the Wedding was a go. We spent another 2 hours on the phone with the site coordinator Karrin and Cherish (event planner) from Embellished. I forgot to mention they switched out Savannah for Cherish at the last minute and Cherish was new to the company. Now is the saddest part. The morning of the wedding as we were packing up the vehicle to head from Orlando to Tampa my fiancé receives a call from Cherish that the venue lost power due to tree falling in the area on power lines. She also advised us Steve pulled the plug on our event. It is my perception by the way the events unfolded they were hoping I cancelled or rescheduled. We asked for the refund and we promptly filled out their form. They have lied and stated the check was in the mail twice which never came. 4 months later we still are out $9k. See you in court!

Maybe fresh lettuce and spinach. Not cooking steaks well done. Cold rolls with frozen butter packets veggies looking like they were reheated a few times.

I recently wrote a negative review regarding TLC Embellished Catering and Events. They catered my special surprise 60th birthday event which unfortunately they completely ruined. Despite the fact that the event has past, this company continues to show their dishonesty and empty promises. I brought the problems of my event to Steven Morgan(the owner) attention. He verified my complaints with his staff who were directly responsible for my event. Steven acknowledged that his company made some detrimental errors which included arriving 2 hours late, not honoring the contractual agreement and their verbal promises.Mr Morgan apologized for the unprofessionalism, and lack of efficiency from his staff/company. He stated that a full reimbursement was warranted and a check would be issued. I thought this act was honorable. However, 60 days later, Mr Morgan has failed once again to honor his word. I have not received the promised check and his last communication two months ago was "that the check is in the mail". Below are email communications between myself and Mr Morgan regarding his empty promise of full reimbursement. In my personal experience with Mr. Morgan, I have learned that he is not a trust worthy person nor does he honor his contractual agreements. Let the buyer beware, as this company will ruin your event without thinking twice about it. I would not recommend this company to anyone who values professionalism, efficiency, honesty and integrity. From:VictorTo:Steven MorganTue, Nov 19 at 8:23 AMGood morning Steven, please know that I received your previous email regarding the refund process which I understand it takes time. It's just shy of a month since my event took place and we had the conversation on the subject. Have you had the opportunity to look into the timeline for disbursement? Appreciate the gesture and information on the matter.Best regards, VictorOn Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 08:56:44 AM EST, Steven Morgan [email protected] wrote:Good morning Victor Event though we have agreed to a refund we have to go through our refund process. Both you and your staff felt that a reimbursement was appropriate since the service provided was not up to Embellish standards. I have been monitoring my accounts and I have not seen a credit or a written check in the mail. Can you give me a timeline when accounting will forward the reimbursement. Best regards, Victor
