I was spending some quality time with my uncle, aunt, and cousins (through friendship, not through blood) and was having so much fun catching up with them. Being an avid Yelper who desires to keep the prestige of Yelp Orlando elites in play, I made sure to check out a local restaurant, one that other Yelpers as well as the locals admire. Ergo, I decided on The Strawberry Hut because of its claim to fame: the best Cuban sandwiches, which I assume in the Tampa area, for 15 years in a row.First and foremost, when The Strawberry Hut said they were the best Cuban, I had to default to Tampa Cubans. For most places, especially in Miami's Little Havana District, a Cuban sandwich is literally six ingredients: Cuban bread, pork grease or butter, ham, pulled pork, pickles, and mustard. That is it. Tampa Cubans are different as they add a bit of freshness to it via lettuce and tomato. If you take the aforementioned into account, then you'll enjoy the Tampa Cuban and yes, they deserve their flowers. However, if you are one of those homeland Cuban sandwich only fellas, you'll probably scream blasphemy. I myself enjoy them all and know that you gotta break out of tradition if you want to improve because growth is in innovation. With that said, my uncle and I ordered our Cubans, along with the rest of his family, through the order window. There was a decent line even after lunchtime. Shows how popular this joint is. The wait wasn't horrendous and the day was beautiful. There is a shaded area for people to wait for their food and a dining area with picnic tables complete with umbrellas for those who want to eat on site.As for the menu, very arrayed with the choices. Many versions of Cubans to pick from. Went with their most popular choice and I wasn't disappointed. Also ordered a milkshake. Makes you forget that Mickey D's ice cream and milkshake machines are always broken. Spend more money for this milkshake over a cheap delicious alternative, any day of the week.Prices are fair and if I knew, would have gotten breakfast which is served all day.Overall, a solid experience. The Strawberry Hut's accolades of being the best for 15 years is well-earned. But once again, Tampa Cubans, NOT OG Cubans.I will give The Strawberry Hut four out of five stars. Definitely check them out if just for the novelty of having a kind of Cuban specific to the area. And if The Strawberry Hut is consistent, I'll give them their fifth star.

Take out service with picnic table. 2 mins off of i4 in Plant City. Strawberry Hut is a community favorite. Selling the best Cuban sandwiches on the planet. They also have hand dipped milkshakes, salads, cheeseburger Cuban, but you can't that just get anywhere they have veggie options, great sweet tea and really friendly service. always clean and on cool days it's nice to sit at the picnic tables undercover to enjoy the fresh air. Come get you some country and have a Cuban while you're here.

I'm back baby! My jobsite is next exit west past the Hut & I get to eat here for lunch. I have been going here since the 90's. Cuban sammies in plant ciry?!? They have been open since '93, must be doing something right! At 11:48 on a wednesday 42° there was already 5 people waiting for food and one person ahead of me in line. Get here Early or order ahead, by noon it was packed. 4" cuban and a bowl of soup filled me up but didn't slow me down. The soup was good but dipping the cuban in the soup!!! Next level baby! I highly recommend the milk shakes, the machines are older than dirt, and they make amazing old fashioned ice cream. It's an old gas station myMom said it had gas pump you had to crank by hand, she was born here.Do yourself a favor and grab a cuban.

An order window on the north side of Plant City with a great Cuban sandwich. The Cuban is so good, I haven't tried any of their other foods. Order ahead, by calling, because it's a busy place. But, it's worth the wait if necessary. Nice waiting area under a shaded awning with plants. Parking seems to be sufficient. This is a must try. Totally recommended. I will be returning to enjoy many more of these delicious Cubans.

The shakes the shakes the shakes! Strawberry Hut has the best shakes, Cubans and other fruity ice cream concoctions. But I'm a shake foodie so you need to check them out if you haven't done so yet! The people are so nice and they serve a lot of customers but they work pretty briskly so no wait. This place is is a Plant City staple and it's what the strawberry camaraderie's all about!!

What a neat place! I'm so glad I followed the Yelper's suggestions and tried it out. We got there around 2pm and while it was busy it wasn't crazy. Plenty of parking. There were 2 people in line in front of me and the line moved quickly. We ordered the ham and cheese Cuban (for my mom) and I ordered the Tuna sandwich. We also ordered 2 strawberry milkshakes. The sandwiches were very good, the bread was delicious. We ordered them pressed - yum. The milkshakes were sooo good. I ordered 2 more to go!It was a gorgeous February day and we had no issues sitting on the picnic tables beneath the wood canopies. It might be a different story in August! Stop by if you're close by or on I-4 near the Plant City exit. You won't be sorry!

Heard about this place from family that lives near The Strawberry Hut advising that I must try the Cuban Sandwich! On our way to Tampa we finally decided to make a stop and check it out and it sure didn't disappoint! We ended up getting the Cuban sandwich and the Cuban Philly sandwich so we can share and try both out. The bread was pressed to perfection on both sandwiches with crispy, crunchy outside and nice chew on the inside of the sandwich. Looks like they might get the bread from La Segunda bakery but I didn't confirm, but in any case the bread was spot on! Both sandwiches had lots of meat and flavor and with the Philly being pressed thinner but wow was it really good. The service was pretty quick and the lady who took my order was really nice, no indoor seating as seating is all outside benches but are covered for shade. Ambiance is quaint, nice, small, with what seems like a fav amongst locals and now folks like me when traveling to Tampa area. I'm always looking at new places to try their versions of Cuban sandwiches and I'm definitely adding this place to the list of one of my favs. Oh and don't forget their strawberry shortcake and shakes!
