The Sparkman House Luxury Bed And Breakfast

I planned a birthday party for my best friend here, and Theresa went above and beyond! She was extremely communicative, very accommodating, and so helpful. She is a very warm and welcoming person and the Sparkman House BnB reflects this. The food itself was amazing! The sweets are out of this world and the savory foods were fantastic. The attention to detail is impressive (seriously, the decor of the place is impeccable!) and the staff was wonderful and so kind. My best friend, who's attended multiple tea parties at multiple places in Tampa as a child, said this was the best tea party she's ever been to. I would absolutely recommend anyone who is looking for a lovely time with family and/or friends to come book with Theresa.

My mom and I came here for afternoon tea and absolutely loved our experience! Not only was the host and staff so attentive and polite, but the setting was perfect. We were the only reservations for our time slot so we were really able to enjoy the space and chat with the host about the history of the house, which she was so wonderfully eager to share with us. It really felt more like a warm, family establishment rather than a business looking to rush you out. The tea was delicious, and we enjoyed all of the savory and sweet foods we were served. We hope to come back for tea again soon, and maybe explore the house and grounds a little more!

Where an afternoon tea was held. In a family environment. A spectacular atmosphere. The structure, the decoration, the snack.

After a very magical wedding day, my husband and I showed up to enjoy our evening. We looked for check in instructions and they only read host will greet us at the door. We rang the bell not knowing what to do. We began to read through the house rules and couldn't understand what was happening. The check in times were not clearly given to us. We were greeting and told there is no check in after 6pm. We asked if we could simply be let in and the man said absolutely not. I responded I will be leaving a review and that we were very upset. We read through the house rules that night and there was not a line that clearly said the check in time under house rules. As you will clearly see it has now been added. We thought for sure a good reputable company would make things right but instead were sad to be messaged that we were rude for waking the house and accused of being intoxicated and belligerent. We were charged for a room we never even saw, a breakfast we never ate, and a cleaning fee for a room we never touched. This is an evening we can never get back and then we're treated with such disregard for our feelings. This whole situation makes me sad and I just want to make sure no other newlyweds have to experience this. Please be aware.

I had a lovely time at the Sparkman House! A friend and I went there for tea in their tea room. It's a bed and breakfast and they offer tea and lunch services too, to visitors other than staying guests. It's gorgeous, peaceful, quaint, very clean and lovely. This establishment is a two story victorian house that is decorated in the time that it was originally built. The furniture is ornate and gorgeous and each room that I saw was perfectly decorated. While waiting for our table, we waited in the sitting room. It was so quiet with light classical music playing. There is something to look at everywhere you look.The gardens around the house are beautiful! Flowers and shrubbery that has been lovingly planned and planted is obvious...like these! The wrap around porch is filled with cozy chairs and those swinging "bed things" (for lack of better word). If I were staying there as an overnight guest, I feel like it would be the perfect spot to read a book!The proprietress was exceedingly kind and attentive. She came back to our table several times but not enough to be annoying or disruptive. When we had to go to the bathroom, she led us along through the bottom floor of the house to a back bedroom bathroom. That was cool because we were able to see so much of the house!Oh yes! The smells! I'm not sure what scents, but the house smelled lovely. Maybe some essential oils? But it wasn't overpowering.We got the full spread of food...the most you could get. She served little round quiches, tea sandwiches (cucumber, chicken salad, and cheese {i think}, deviled eggs, bear claws, tarts, scones, cinnamon rolls and lavendar lemonade! You could just go for the lemonade and be satisfied! We also had hot tea....she has several choices to choose from when you book with her. The food was great and way too much! She gave generous portions...you will get filled up! We were there right at noon. It was a lovely experience. We were there for 2 and a half hours. I didn't want to leave. I was totally immersed in the experience. It was like I was back in the early 1900's. To leave and go back out into the world was a bummer. My visit there made me really want to stay overnight sometime. When I spoke with the owner (the lady), she was talking about how this was her dream - to own a bed and breakfast and tea room. I could really tell that she's put her heart and soul into everything she's done. And she was so incredibly kind and welcoming. She hugged us both at the end of our visit.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I can try to explain the awesomeness of this Luxurious Bed & Breakfast venue and the staff but until you actually walk the through the beautiful scenery yourself - my words will not do it justice. From the entrance, to the staff, to the breathtaking views. The Sparkman House is simply STUNNING and AMAZING! The staff was so personable and accommodating. In a way it felt like working with friends and family. Many guest commented on how unique and beautiful the venue was. Our whole experience was absolutely wonderful! From start to finish, Theresa made our wedding dreams come true. She was prompt, knowledgeable and beyond helpful! She married us in front of the glorious gazebo with such unique and heart felt words and had our reception in the tented back area. The service was spectacular. My guests said it was the best wedding food they have ever had and the morning breakfast was made for kings and queens. I am beyond happy with my experience. If you are looking for a wedding venue in the Tampa Bay area, this is it. No need to look further. You won't regret it!!!!

My husband and I were married yesterday at 4pm. We were excited about a magical stay at this bed and breakfast. We had a driver bring us to the house only to arrive to a dark home. We rang the door several times. We called and messaged and read through the check in procedure. The only check in message we received for "easy checkin" was that the host would greet us at the door. After several minutes trying to get in and not really knowing what we were going to do a man came out and said sorry but no check-in after 6pm! We were tired and just needed to be let in but we're refused checkin! The host messaged us this morning and informed us that they made it clear of the checkin times. This was just now added under the house rules which I read over and over. I understand they have policies but I feel like the miscommunication could have been corrected but instead we were messaged that we disturbed them and there would be zero refund including a cleaning fee for a room we never even got to view and a full breakfast we never got to eat! This in my opinion is poor customer service. It was our wedding night and our wedding started at 4pm if it was really made clear you had to check in by 6pm we would not have booked.

Bad customer service. The place was pretty much closed when we tried to check in. Even though it was stated to always be open.

Where do I start, this location is absolutely beautiful. The innkeepers & staff are the most accommodating people I have ever met. You are treated like royals from the moment you arrive. The food is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this location to anyone, from afternoon tea, to lunch to staying in one of the most tasteful decorated rooms in this lovely home, you will love it!
