As a local, I have been to Shipwreck (one of the oldest bars if not THE oldest in Clearwater beach) many times.The bartenders: Jeff, Dennis, Alex and Faith are one of the major reasons why we all keep coming! They're professional, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, but most importantly they'll make you feel home.It has a full bar, specialty cocktails, pool tables, touch tunes ...It's mainly frequented by local/ regular crowd ( the go to for all the neighbors ) but it also welcomes visitors from all over. The "usual" age group varies from the oldest to the youngest legal drinking age.The unique thing about it is the authentic experience of feeling like a local and a sense of home that offers to tourists as well, as opposed to most other bars in the area that are extremely touristy.The Wreck ( as we locals like to call it ) has a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, with a unique and memorable theme, ( nautical, pirate...) and an impressive vibe...

What a fun place. Bartenders are really good. Especially the guy with the long blonde hair. Very cool and very attentive and they make great drinks. This place is somewhat divey but that is part of what makes it great. Whenever we are down by the beach we always make this one of our stops. They have pool tables and lots of tables and chairs to sit on. The bar is super long and the lighting is funky in a good way. If youre ever in clearwater this is a must stop. Lots of locals frequent this place

Owner and staff were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Clearwater Beach

I was so excited that there was a dive bar close to where we were staying.I'm going to keep this simple and not express my full opinion as I would probably be barred from yelp using the wrong words DO NOT GO Here would be my words of advice .And the bartender informed me They don't carry and Anheuser-Busch products "they don't serve Gay Beer" Not sure which is worse The fact they don't carry or they are so proud of the reason why

A bit down the road from the newer, more touristy drag which made the street and this bar in particular, quite quiet. If it were in a different city, the area may have seemed a bit seedy but it wasn't at all. Upon entering, your senses are almost overwhelmed by the lights and overall theme of the bar. On one side is a pool table room which looks straight out of the 70's and not in a good way. One the other side is the bar, dim but colorfully lit with string lights, and decorated almost like a pirate cove ran into an aquarium. We did go on a Tuesday night, in the off season which more than likely accounted for how dead it was inside. It was just my family and what seemed like the local drunk. The bartender was prompt, nice, and a bit over the top, which is what I had hoped for from the other reviews. We got three of their specialty drinks which definitely looked cool and were Instagram worthy, though their looks and the Otter Pop in them were the best part of them. They tasted pretty terrible to be honest and were overly expensive. It was a fun"ish" 20 minutes but I don't think I would come back if it wasn't my last stop on a bender or if it wasn't already poppin' inside.

BEST BAR EVER! I am coming back to clearwater truly for this place. When the hurricanes happened back in October, I called to make sure they were ok! Cannot wait to go back.

Went to play some pool and have drinks with friends. The change machine was busted and when one of the guys asked to break a dollar he was called a r*tard by the bartender. Afterwords he doubled down, insulting other people with us. Terrible experience, and all within 15 minutes of entering the bar. Would not recommend so long as the current bartender continues there.

my friend asked for change to play Billiards, and the bartender called him a bunch of profanities. I walked up to the bar without having talked to him and he gave me two middle fingers because he knew I was in the same group. I have no idea why he was so angry or aggressive, but I immediately left. I hope the owner can figure out their staff because the atmosphere seemed great, but I will definitely never go back.

Was excited to check out the place. Went during day early on a Monday. Wife and I with over 40 years plus bartending experience. Never had a worse bartender with less then Zero personality. I question the hiring process. Wife actually asked the male bartender if she could tell him a story..note, not 1 person in bar. Dude said..."I'm good". Unreal. Dude has no business in service industry and should consider a different career. We won't be back. Will tell this story often.
