The Sandwich on Main

Cute location that I've passed and seen all the good reviews for. I wanted to love it but didn't. We split the Philly which isn't one for starters. No peppers, more mushrooms than meet and very wet. Cheese could've been spread better and the bread it was on was very good. I also enjoyed the zucchini side they give. Chips come as a side and I'd like to try another sandwich because another order at a different table looked great. Super cute atmosphere and very cozy dining area. Our server was sweet and quick

Two years later and it's still a Main Street staple because of its fun sandwich and soda selection and family atmosphere. It's still a solid choice for a quick lunch that's a break from your norm. If there's anything I wish this place had, it would be some menu rotation. The menu is great but hasn't really changed much, and the side is always raw squash with a little vinegar that no one I've ever gone with really enjoys. You can ask for a side of slaw instead but it would be nice to see something new occasionally.

The food was good, but not great. Saying it is ok wouldn't be right either. If I lived nearby I could see getting it take away sometimes. Our biggest hang up on this place were the dirty blinds in front of us at the window bar and the smallness of the dining room. It's really small. Like we know WAY too much about a local mom because 3 other local moms were dishing hard on her!! They weren't loud talkers by any means, the place is just too small to talk without everyone else in the dining room hearing your conversation. Get your food to go and don't run your mouth about your "friends" if you're all local.

My husband eats here weekly. I had not been. We went for lunch on a Sunday. I was craving a Reuben sandwich. He says they have the best. We sat outside on the sidewalk. In the shade thankfully. We ordered the chips, a beer and a root beer. We each had the Crazy Swayze. We ordered it toasted but when it came we couldn't tell by looking at it. I think the toasting was rushed. The sandwich was not "melted " together as it should be according to my husband. It was good! But I know it could be better and he agreed. We had very friendly kind service from a tall gentleman. I don't know his name. I took a while and he thanked us for our patience. I look forward to going back to try other sandwiches! But maybe during the week.

Visiting Safety Harbor for the 1st time. Looking at Yelp I saw that "The Sandwich on Main" was #1 on the list for lunch. Well deserved to the "nth degree" It was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Sat outside on a beautiful day. Not a lot of space for big parties but perfect for my wife and I.Menu was quite extensive and the top 2 items are what we ordered...the Turkey sandwich and the Cuban.They were EXTREMELY delicious. They make their own pulled pork and own brioche. Bottom line...WONDERFUL !Service was excellent! Kara was SUPER, SUPER NICE! The sandwiches we wanted...low and behold were their best sellers. Bottom line...GO HERE!!!

It seems so rare these days for a place to stand out with an excellent & unique product. The Sandwich on Main came roaring through. I ordered the "Main Beef" sandwich. When it arrived I was quite taken by the thick & yellow & tasty bread. I tried to figure out what was on it, guessing turmeric & butter, but I truly have no idea. It was a standout for sure. The sandwich contained lean, tasty, roast beef & melted cheddar cheese. On it was thin sliced red onion. The element though that excited my palette most though was the sauce on the sandwich. I could discern thousand island dressing as the base with some fun spice kicking it up several notches. This is the place to go for sandwiches reimagined.

If you're in the mood for delicious hot and cold deli sandwiches, yummy soups on charming Main Street in Safety Harbor, then this is the place for you.I've been several times and it's consistently very good quality. Everything is made fresh-made to order Nice locally owned small business. Often times one of the owners takes your order. This visit I tried the smokestack which was perfectly thin smoked turkey stacked high. I love that you could really taste the smoke. It was served on grilled House made cheddar bread. Add applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and sauce and you have a fantastic sandwich. My husband had the Rueben and said it was excellent. He also tried the tomato and basil soup which was light with chunky tomatoes and lots of basil. Very tasty!I like the healthy side of fresh zucchini dressed in balsamic to help balance out the decadent sandwich.They have a. Great long standing restaurant.Staff is wonderful, sandwiches (my favorite turkey) soups never disappoint.It always stays true to what they built their business reputation on.Try it and you'll see the cozy little restaurant with its small town vib!

Cramped and really slow. Sandwiches are good but probably not worth a 30-60 minute wait.
