I really enjoy coming to OSCM. It's always a warm & excited welcome. The food options they provide us with are amazing. The market is always clean and great vibe to it all. They support local business/farmers. Ever since 2020 I've made it a goal to shop more local and support local. Small businesses are the backbone of America. We need to support them. Thank you for the great service and product you provide.

Only place I've been able to find raw milk in Lakeland. Things are a little pricey but I guess that's what it costs to eat REAL food.

New owners raise prices by a lot I will not be going back. I get way better pricing in Brandon. It's a shame I'll been going the for 3 year miss Janet!

The Old South Country Market is a gem in Lakeland. It has high-end quality meat products, including wagyu beef which is so difficult to find. It also carries Amish products which is rare to see too. Their produce is so fresh and comes from local farms. Their tomatoes taste so good, couldn't get any fresher. We also bought so many apples and they were sweet and a great price. I love how they have a discount corner where you can buy ripe produce. I saw ripe bananas there for a great price, perfect for when you want to make banana bread!I love how you have access to so many high quality food products at a great price. The store is well organized and clean, and the owner is so kind and polite. Definitely stop by here to support a great local business! A true gem in Lakeland!

You will NOT find high quality meats at this price NOWHERE in Central Florida! Take it from an expert grill master! Old South Country Market please continue the good work and bringing on the greater meats!P.S. Check out the seafood as well: huge scallops and lobsters/lobster tails.

Truthfully, it was a "2" experience but am giving the benefit of the doubt with a first visit. It is a small country market with under-filled shelves and a great place for exploring or shaking up your normal grocery buying. I found most prices very high but a few good bargains. Strawberry onions were 2/$3 when the local produce stands have them at $2. They have a "ripe" shelf where buckets are $1. Avocados were .69, peppers were .99. Not all foods were local, I bought some peppers from Mexico. They have many Lakeland Local items, I believe they sell on consignment. Some nice looking pickles were $10/qt (too high for my interest). They sell boiled peanuts, $2 for a small. They have an interesting meat selection, often organic. I bought a beef filet at $8 for 6 ounces but when home, it only weighed 4.5 oz and was small. Their Amish products (noodles, ring baloney, cheese) are cheaper at Walker Produce.I would venture about 1/3 of their products did not have prices, which is a turn-off. The sole clerk was slow and too chatty with each customer, making the line and wait long. They don't have a "curb cut" convenient to their door, so you either must hike up/down a 6" curb or take an additional 84 steps to use a ramp to the street level from the end of the strip mall. This alone will keep me from returning. They sell cheesecake cups infused with CDB oil barely separated from regular cheesecake, which bothers me on several levels. I won't be returning to this store.

LImited, very pricy, not really a country market as the name says. High priced vacuum packed meats? That is not fresh.

I am so glad I had an appointment next-door. This is how I stumbled across this very quaint cute market. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable on things I had never seen before. I love to Support and Shop locally. So I will be coming back! I am very excited to try her homemade mixed berry dessert.

I like to use my smoker A LOT! That said upfront, I require a few things from the establishments where I shop. First, the quality of meat has to be excellent, consistent, available and a fair price. I'm actually willing to pay more if a store can hit all the above. Second, customer service needs to be exceptional. My experience is they have delivered on both and exceeded my expectations on customer service. Most recently, I called to place a large order of boston butts, chicken, ribeyes and salmon (which they dont traditionally carry). The owner sat with me, walked through the order and asked if she could wait a few days to order the ribeyes because she knew the prices would likely be coming down. She completed my order with no issues and everything was perfect. When you have quality AND service - you have a recipe for success.
