I had an amazing experience at the local tonight, my bartender Braxton made me feel welcomed and had an extensive variety of recommendations. He was very easy going with great conversation and a charismatic personality, not a single moment of awkwardness and overall best bar experience I've had since I've started drinking. I recommend asking for Braxton as your bartender for a fabulous drinking experience.

Stumbled across this place on an adventurous weekend evening night and was pleasantly surprised to find such an outstanding alcohol selection for the perfect nightcap. The bartender, I think her name is Dakota, was so friendly and attentive...really made it such a warm experience. I hope more locals try The Local! My specialty cocktail was awesome. I'm actually from south Tampa, but it was well worth the trek. Oh, and don't let me forget about the delicious sandwich the bartender made me (late night, mind you), which was a pleasant surprise (GAS), and something I would definitely order again. 10/10 experience... I signed up to be a rewards member.

Honestly if the worst establishments I've been to in a while. Sat at the bar for 5 minutes before being acknowledged. Drinks are okay. I asked to pay my tab and I asked to give my card before knowing the total. Won't come back.And bartenders do not wear masks.

4 stars for a solid local bar (no pun intended).I stopped by The Local, located on Northdale Blvd across from Whole Foods, before the Tampa Yelp Games. While the place only had 2 reviews, it had a fun looking outside and an active FB page, so I gave them a shot.The bar is fairly clean (only about a month old) with what looks like wood paneling throughout (which was secretly wallpaper!). I sat down, plugged in my charger below the bar, and asked about a beer list. The friendly bartender told me about all their local brews (get it?) and suggested I get a Darwin Llama Mama, a very solid nitro beer for dark beer drinkers.The clientele at this place range from young and in school to professionals getting off work. I appreciated some of the conversations I was able.yo have, ranging from welding to the Olympics to international tax.Overall, the Local is a solid local bar with a good beer selection, friendly service and a fun group of people to drink with after work. If you are looking to get drinks in the area, the Local is definitely worth checking out.

I absolutely love this hometown local bar. The Local overs LOCAL brews as well as vodkas how Cool! The atmosphere is clean, with a pool table, dartboards, boardgames and the friendliest staff ever. Sherry is always so pleasant remembers your name and just makes it a special experience. They offer trivia/questionarre on Tuesdays too. This is a locals hangout with a dog friendly front patio area. Love the Local and I can't wait to return.

Young people bar, nice music, cold beers, excellent customer service. Definitely will stop by again.

I was first introduced when one of the guys I play trivia against. He invited me to go after trivia to play another game of trivia because they have a game at 8 and 9 on Tuesday nights. Great bar in Carrollwood. True to all businesses in Carrollwood you will find every demographic in the neighborhood there. They have a pretty impressive craft beer selection almost all local or Florida breweries. They've also got a pretty good liquor selection that includes popular brands as well as brands from several of the local distilleries. They also have several cocktails made using the local spirits. They've got a decent sized indoor space complete with TV's, a pool table, 3 electronic dart boards, electronic juke box, a pinball machine and a golf game.Not to mention plenty of seats at the bar, seating at tables and an outdoor patio area. My friend and I stopped by The Local DH on Saturday night, and the place was completely deserted other than one occupied table and a few people sitting at the bar. We paid to play pool, intending to order drinks afterward, but shortly after inserting our money into the pool table, we were approached by a staff member who shockingly asked us to leave because we hadn't purchased drinks first. When I pointed out that we HAD paid to play pool, he merely shrugged uncomfortably. There was not a waiting list for the table, we had not been squatting there for hours and not purchased anything, we had only been in the building for about 5 minutes and we were keeping to ourselves. We were just there to enjoy a quiet game of pool and order a drink after, but were instead asked to leave, which begs the question why? Did the way we presented ourselves bother someone, because the treatment felt discriminatory, leaving us feeling humiliated and unwelcome, which is ironic considering this place has a reputation for serving to fake IDs, so you wouldn't think they'd be so choosy about their clientele. This bar is unprofessional, disrespectful, and not worth anyone's time. Avoid this place at all costs.

As a loyal customer of this place since it's opened, it's hands down a terrible bar. Mind you, the staff loves me, and I always tip well. Since I've been going, they never keep up with their liquor, fire their staff without reason, and don't get me started on the bathrooms... never toilet paper, and as a matter of fact, they put paper towels in the stall bc they don't buy toilet paper. The toilet paper box has been broken for months without fixing, as well as the paper towel machine which hasn't worked in months. Also they never have paper towels even out for you to dry your hand near the sink. This is me describing the place nicely. If you want to go to an over priced place with extremely bad service be my guest (not to mention, the owner treats his staff terrible.) I've been meaning to leave a review for years but I gave them too many chances so here we are.
