The Corner Bar & Grill

First time in here after yet another cathartic visit with Momma at the old folks home. So here we are in one of the coolest dives I've been to since leaving NYC area once and for all in 2015. The gal behind the counter (Tammy?) is actually an expat Brooklynite of decades gone by...no wonder I like this joint. One of my coworkers plays trivia here every Tuesday night and loves it.Well we did some more Day Drinking before the return home and enjoyed the quiet vibe. It's obvious Tammy seems to know a lot of the other people in here; asks them if they want whatever beverage of choice and almost total yeses from our fellow barflies as she calls 'em by name.We also ate to appear SOMEWHAT respectable. Queen Bee was in the mood for a BLT; hers came with rye bread (white was other choice). Decent amount of goodies in between slices of dark rye, which stood up quite well. Only thing is that QB had to ask for mayo, as the sammich came dry...I had their bacon cheeseburger; choice of fries or tots. I chose the latter as their fries are coated fries...blech! It was cooked to a perfect and flavorful medium with two strips of crisp bacon and melted provolone (they allow choice of cheese). Only complaint was the softness of the bun, which didn't stand a chance against the beautifully grilled burger! LTOP came atop this little parcel. Each of our lunches came with a lil side cup of macaroni salad...odd but tasty nonetheless!My Yuengling was $3 per pint glass and my Queen Bee's Cabernet was $4 a glass; not bad. Add up all the drinks, chow and tax came up to $58.44 which ain't bad for a couple hours of decompression after a Mommy Dearest Visit. While we were finishing up the owners son in law showed up to take care of things...Meantime Tammy is a decent hostess who also seems to mean business. That's probably a good thing for Ms Lynn who owns this place, the diner a few doors down (Corner Skillet) and the laundromat a few doors away in the other direction. Since ownership can't be everywhere all at once it's good to have someone who can look out. They also seems to have live music, trivia and other such things after dark...I stated that one of my coworkers loves the trivia Tuesday here. So why not give this joint a nice chance? I'm happy enough to recommend this place after one lil visit. It is a nice counterpoint to Corner Skillet if U prefer chow with a good stiff drink in a similarly simple no nonsense atmosphere where U still feel like U belong. Yay!!!

Nick and I went to this bar for some karaoke on Saturday night. There was a steady group of people in and out. The service was above excellent! We were taken care of so well. We had a few drinks, and we also had the mozzarella sticks. Even though they were probably the frozen kind, they were cooked crispy And had a really nice marinara sauce. The karaoke was a lot of fun too. The restroom was clean and the whole bar seemed clean. We will definitely be back!

Tried to go for Karaoke but was closed due to a fire. Not posted on any social media or on their website. Total let down after taking an Uber over

My favorite place for affordable food, beer, and fantastic karaoke! You will not be left wanting when you come here to have a good time!

It's a dive bar in the plaza, karaoke is what makes them stand out. If you love good, cheap drinks and some pretty delicious bar food this place is for you. They do have a couple of pool tables in the back and like I said karaoke is what they are know for. If you want an authentic dive bar this is your spot.

Came here on my bday week very late at night. So much fun! What an excellent hole in the wall. They've got amazing food for a dive bar and great selection of beer on tap.I'm from TX and they're grilled cheese is fire! The bartenders were extremely friendly and kind.A guy from TN and a brunette lady! Thanks for making my night so much fun!

A fun place indeed. I was visiting and dropped by a couple of nights for karaoke. Really nice crowd, fun and friendly. My friend who lives in St. Pete had never heard of this place, I dragged him along the next day, he loved it. It's a type of "Cheers" place with the bar in the middle. There's TV monitors everywhere, overall a nice setting and relaxed ambiance. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in the area!

Love the food and the music but after 6 years of going there they changed most of the bartenders and unfortunately it is not the same..we have tried it out a couple of weeks and a couple of them are very good at their job but it takes one person to make you feel unwanted and not welcome maybe when that person is gone we may return.

Food is really good.Service was not good at all took awhile and waitlist to sing is unforgettable. Charging 12$ green tea shots top shelf without asking. Ambience not great either bar was kinda dark and not much room for people.

love this bar especially cici only wish they could sing songs with us ! They are always so sweet and nice to everyone and I've never caught them on a bad night. I can honestly say this is the place to go if you don't know anyone cause they treat you like family .
