The Black Eyed Pea

Our first time stopping for lunch! We'd passed by many times and knew at some point we'd want to stop, because there's always a full parking lot! I ordered the vegetable plate, where I was able to select 4 delicious items (cabbage, okra, greens and a hamburger patty). And my bf, ordered the meatloaf dinner w/black eyed peas and a salad. Our waitress was very friendly and excited when we explained that it was our first visit. She advised of their most ordered items. We'll definitely stop again - next time for breakfast - as it's served all day! Or Fish Fry Friday! A great stop if you love Southern food!

We were on the road wanting a good burger. We saw black eyed pea. This is a nice little diner in Dade city. Our server was very nice and helpful. Fresh tea and home style atmosphere. We ordered burgers. Homemade patties and fresh beef. My burger was huge with a few onion rings on it. They were delicious. The fries were crispy and hot. They have a breakfast that looks good. Nice hidden gem.

Tried this place on a whim & it was great. The food was delicious but the service is what makes this place special. You could tell most of the people there were regulars & the waitresses were having so much fun with everyone. Definition of southern hospitality. Would definitely visit again.

Great spot for breakfast! Coffee was great, and service was too! I had county fried steak, hash brown and egg.Needs new coffee mugs, my cup had lots of chips could have cut my lips. Seems like a local spot.

Best burgers. Wonderful comfort food. Cozy, very nice staff. Daily specials are great and sell out fast.

Came in on Saturday when there was a bit if a wait. Breakfast is served until noon, but we opted for the lunch me u. They have most of the staples at a diner. I chose the meatloaf and the wife chose the grilled cheese. The pepsi branded drinks were good. The soup - today's selection was a creamy chicken, was phenomenal. It needed a little pepper and salt but was absolutely fantastic otherwise.

Neat little family run restaurant with nice servers and staff. But food was not that good. My bacon was nearly raw and hash browns were not crispy. Eggs were cold. Hopefully this was a bad day and not representative of the place.

Breakfast was delicious, great home cookin! Definitely recommend the Country Fried Steak and Hash Brown. The coffee was great!

Used to like this restaurant but this time was ridiculous. Totally ignored for a long time and it took forever to get our food. Then I was ignored for a long time while standing at the register. Won't be back.
