The Big Catch at Salt Creek

Wow! What an evening. We wanted a casual, family friendly restaurant with fresh seafood.The Big Catch at Salt Creek was exactly that. The seafood dishes were superb. Drinks were perfect and live music memorable.Best evening we've had in months!

Exactly what I wanted!Service is excellent, friendly, attentive and helpful. This is what's expected and they are providing an excellent dining experience.I ordered the Rum Runner. Yeah, yeah, it's lunch....i don't care. Post hurricane treat for this guy whose been working 16 hours daily, is a welcomed mental break from the grind. I also got a platter with an assortment of fried seafood. It's not fancy, but filling. No complaints. This is an open air, dock-side restaurant with thatched roof and a real Florida coastal vibe. It's obviously a neighborhood favorite. Loving it!!Overall, this dive checks off every box. Recommended.

If you're expecting even halfway decent service, this is not the place for you. Everyone just stands around and seems like they kind of forget they're even working. The food and drinks are also just mediocre. I do, however, like the Cuban dip, which I'd like to call in to go....but no one ever answers the phone Really, the only thing this place has going for it is the location.

My family and I had a wonderful Saturday lunch here!! Definitely deserves a higher Yelp rating, in my opinion.It was a super busy Saturday, but we were seated immediately at a table overlooking the water (you can't beat the ambiance here, a casual spot on the water is the perfect place to eat some fresh fish). The hostess did warn us that it would be 15 minutes before we'd get to place our order, and since we had the warning, we didn't mind the wait. Once our server came, she was great and attentive. The biggest wait was at the beginning, and then everything came out pretty quickly.We started with the coconut shrimp, which were delicious. They were fried shrimp topped with coconut and a sweet sauce, not fried in coconut, but that didn't bother any of us. It was a great serving size, as well, with 9 shrimp total.I got the blackened snapper sandwich, which was excellent. The coleslaw was great, too, with the right proportion of mayo (not too little, not too much). My parents loved their blackened mahi sanwiches and my husband devoured his mahi tacos. We got a side of the rice and beans, which were also good, but the coleslaw was the better side, if I had to choose. There was so great live music with a very talented singer. We appreciated that the music wasn't overpowering and added wonderfully to the vibe.We'll most certainly be back!

This is a fun place where the food, service and ambiance are all great. You're at a marina, on the water, with great fish tacos. There's live music on the weekends and cold beer.

Terrible service! My family came here on Sunday for lunch and it was not crowded - maybe 4-5 tables were filled. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, waited about 15 min or so and had to remind our waitress that we ordered the calamari. We also had to ask for our drinks to be filled and waved down other waitresses for service. Luckily the food was delicious and we enjoyed the view of the water, so at least that was good!

This is a great place to unwind on the water. Lots of covered outside seating . They have several gluten-free options.I like the fish tacos and the rice and beans.

We went there for an early dinner and were seated right away with a great water view. We ordered snapper with Cajun crawfish sauce and a pressed Cuban sandwich. The snapper dish was fresh and delicious, the Cuban was very tasty too. Big Catch is close to us and we'll be back. Great server also!

We enjoyed a lovely lunch today on the deck outside on the water. The shrimp po boy is fantastic and the Cajun pasta was generous and delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. We definitely will come back when we are in the area. Fabulous food and great prices make this a real jewel in St Petersburg.

It wasn't busy and the service was slow. The food was mid (but affordable) and the drinks were lackluster. 4/10
