I mostly visit this spot when there's live music, and it never disappoints. It's super chill, very casual, and full of regulars, which gives it a welcoming vibe. Drinks are inexpensive, and they've got a pool table and darts to keep things fun.If you're there on a non-event night, it's still a great hangout. The bartenders are always friendly, chatty, and bring good banter, which adds to the laid-back atmosphere. The crowd tends to vary depending on who's playing, but on average, it skews toward the 30-and-older range--a vibe I definitely appreciate these days. The outdoor patio is huge, which is perfect for Florida evenings. I used to come here more often a few years ago, especially for the Tony Macaroni pasta window (those were the days!), but even without it, it's still an awesome spot to relax and enjoy good company.Highly recommend it for live music nights or just a casual hangout with a great vibe!

The bartender Sara is RUDE! 15 mins before closing she yells out to the guest very loud (GET THE F**k OUT!!!!) OVER and Over! She puts everyone out early unless you are one of her few select friends. A few of the regulars are her friends and she kicks everyone out and lets those people stay late ordering drinks until 5am sometimes. COMPLETELY unfair AND illegal!!!!When the bar is barley busy, she looses her cool very easily. She get upset with the customers when they are only simply ordering drinks. She yells at the guests and threatens them that she will refuse them service and kick them out of the bar for doing nothing...Sara is also a bully, on nights she is NOT working she likes to hang out at the bar. Even when no one is talking to her, she likes to interrupt conversations with nasty rude comments. One night Saha had assaulted me and my guy friend. She pushed me into a wall as I walked towards the door. I had stopped for a sec to wave goodbye to some friends and she pushed me for no reason. I am a woman so I pushed her back and warned her never to put her hands on me. I left out of the door but she followed me and charged towards me. so I had to defend myself. The owner of this place just seems to let her get away with anything she wants. I mean how unprofessional is it to yell and assault your guest on a daily basis???? I usually come there I'm never bothering anyone. I sing so I love the karaoke nights and the cheap drinks but if this is assertable to the owner of this bar then Im afraid you have lost a regular customer.

I love the idea of this place. I like the atmosphere and the people, but unfortunately the RACISM I've experienced from the bartender LACEY and the older frumpy one EVERY TIME I come in has been completely appalling. I want to support local neighborhood businesses but when I come into your spot and you think it more important to organize cups than serve me or even acknowledge me a full 20 minutes as you continue to acknowledge others walking in and serving others drinks, who happen to not be black.....yea, let's all collectively hold our big fat red STOP signs. And this is not a one time experience, folks. This has been a consistent occurrence. When one said bartender was asked about her lack of customer service, her excuse -while half rolling her eyes and giving a smirk- was that she and another bartender were changing shifts. Yea....and you totally were just serving other customers while closing out shifts, so BULLSHIT. We've been here enough to be considered regulars, so even if you can't stand the sight of our sexy faces, at least pretend like you do. I do. The service makes me not want to spend my money at this place. If you saw me on the street I guarantee you, your behavior would be different. So don't let it be that.

This is not a youngsters hot spot, but older folks will get a warm welcome and stiff drink for low cost at the American Legion bar....where patriotism is celebrated with cheap drinks. It is a sample of old-time Americana parked on N. Florida Ave, just north of Sligh & Lowry park. That could be Norman Rockwell quietly sipping his Bud Lite draft at the end of the bar. You can see a different array of critters parked in the bar on most afternoons, some resembling sloths, others chattier birds. Regrettably lots of the regulars smoke, so probably they alternate visits here and the James Haley VA hospital. Free hot dogs, popcorn, and low-cost meals are sometimes offered under a hot lamp.Thursday nights feature Johnny Charro and band playing music for dancing in the Legion Hall for an $8 cover and low cost drinks. He is quite good at 50's, 60's and later golden oldies, but will not be doing rap, hip-hop, techno or similar more recent musical aberrations that can't be danced to. You don't have to be a Legionnaire or even a vet to be welcomed, but you will probably feel more comfortable if you fit in with such a bunch. Here you are on the other side of the world from most Ybor & SoHo clubs.

Friendly bar staff, cheap STRONG drinks, free pool and popcorn, plus they are staying open much later these days (until 3AM most nights)! This has become a favorite late night spot for the Seminole Heights service industry crowd, and with good reason!

Best punk rock bar in town. Go there on any given night and there will be a dozen kids crowded by the pool table slamming cheap drinks and sniffing glue. A true oasis in this cultural wasteland.

The only reason I go are the super cheap drinks. Some of the younger bartenders and patrons are cool. It's gotten better since the "hipsters" started making their way in.....But as Yserdia mentioned before...those fuckers are racist. I have always been met with the WTF are you doing here face from the frumpy bartender, there are two old slick haired assholes that sit at the bar on the opposite side from the front door that are always there and do the same thing and most of the other older patrons rarely have any to say to me at all. It was even worse when Baltimore happened and it was all over the news...there were days when I would walk in and people would leave, or if they happened to be watching the news and it came up they would change they channel....all good though...the fact that I make them uncomfortable and we both know it is half the reason I go back...suck it!
