We have visited this establishment many times in the past because we were always happy with it, but it has been years since we have been there. The ambiance is nice. It is beautifully decorated and they have many idols adorning the restaurant. The service was quick but that's about all I can say good about it. The waitress may have said two words to us and never checked if we needed anything. She did come back once to provide different sauces and that when we were able to order a second drink. It is possible there was a language barrier but I can not say for sure. Just giving the benefit of doubt to her.We didn't get the chicken satay this time but it was always really good.I had the crispy duck which the duck was very good in the garlic sauce. The vegetables were basically raw which is something I don't enjoy. At least steam them so they are slightly cooked. My husband had the signature pad Thai which he said was good but a small serving with 3 shrimp and a few small pieces of chicken. I did share my duck which I think if I had not he would have still been hungry. The price for my duck was quite a bit overpriced and I think the whole menu was quite high. I am always skeptical when they scratch out a price and pen one in.I don't want to deter anyone from trying this restaurant nor am I saying it was bad, because I can not say it was, it's just not quite what we remembered. These are just some points to look out for when you go.

My friends and I were really in the mood for Thai food, so we decided to grab dinner from Thai Lanna & Sushi. Upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately impressed by the stunning decor which transported us to Thailand. We were quickly seated at our table and our server brought us menus and glasses of water. After perusing the menu, we began our meal with Chicken Gyoza. For our main course, we ordered Chicken Green Curry with Spicy Noodles. To finish off the meal, we ordered Mango and sticky Rice for dessert. The service was excellent and our food arrived promptly. We started with the Chicken Gyoza which was absolutely delicious and set the tone for a fantastic meal. The Green Chicken Curry was perfectly cooked with tender chicken and flavorful vegetables. The Spicy Noodles were also quite flavorful and packed with vegetables and chicken. Finally, we indulged in the Mango Sticky Rice which was the perfect ending to our meal.Overall, we had an incredible dining experience at Thai Lanna. The prices were very reasonable, and the food was both amazing and satisfying.

I struggle a bit between 3 an 4 stars for Thai Lanna and would consider this review a 3.5. Ultimately went with 4 stars as the service and food were good.Atmosphere:- Thai Lanna has a well decorated and relaxing indoors. The restaurant is adorned with Thai pictures and statues and has a "pond" in the middle which customers can sit alongside.- While overall the restaurant was clean, the ceilings and airducts were quite dirty. This wouldn't normally bother me but it was a bit excessive; a little cleaning or some replacement tiles would go along way in ensuring that the inside truly feels clean.Service:- We had a good experience with the service. Our waitress greeted us and checked in frequently. It appeared as though only two people were working the day we came; the chef and the service. Given this coupled with the many take out outdoors, the server did an excellent job making sure everyone was tended to.Food:- As others have mentioned there are two downsides to Thai Lanna; despite the name, there is no sushi and there's no alcohol. We ordered crab rangoon, fried eggplant; garlic and lemongrass w/ tofu, and rama garden w/ chicken, and coconut ice cream for dessert. The crab rangoon was good, not amazing, but had a nice flavor and was well fried. The fried eggplant was delicious; it was tempura and came with two dipping sauces (peanut and sweet chili). Originally we were not going to order the eggplant but glad we did. The entrees (garlic and lemongrass w/tofu and rama garden w/chicken) were both very good. They had really nice flavor, were a good portion size, and we enjoyed having some leftovers. The coconut ice cream had lots of shaved coconut and was the perfect end to the meal.Overall, good Thai food.

Larb Gai salad was not good! Tasted like it had Parmesan cheese almost. I couldn't figure it out. I left most of it. Sorry I ordered it. Because of others reviews & my husband eating here now a couple of times, I may try something different another time.

Overall *** 2.75 Weighted Stars. While I may consider getting takeout I definitely wouldn't return to dine in. Our service was disappointing and the food not good enough to warrant a return trip to deal with it. Be aware that they do not have a liquor license and you cannot bring anything in. Additionally although it is in the name there is no sushi on the menu.Setting ** It's actually nicer inside than the lower end strip mall location might suggest. The restaurant has dark wood paneling and many booths for added intimacy. I'm only going 2 Stars here due to the cleanliness level. The ceiling tiles are water stained with many out of place but it was the bathroom that really turned me off, particularly the light switch plate (see photo).Service ** Granted our server was seemingly the only one working and dealing with the phone, take out orders and tables was a bit much. However she was borderline nasty and we had an excessive amount of confusion with our order. Each item seemed to come out in a haphazard manner and there were stretches we were left wondering if we were going to get what we ordered or if there was another miscommunication.Food *** The Tom Yum soup was very good as was the cucumber salad, our entrees all were a letdown though. Pad Thai, Cashew Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice all suffered from the same fate, they just had no flavor. Without adding lots of condiments it's like we are eating nothing. The Won Ton Soup was loaded with bean sprouts so if you are not a fan of those like me you may want to ask them not put them in. Value *** Entrees we're about average in my book at $15.95, small cups of soup at $6 each I feel was pricey.

Adorable restaurant with traditional decorations!any options to pick from traditional thai food. The sushi was delicious but would have preferred it not fried. The ambiance is very tranquil with a running waterfall and soft music.

Amazing Thai food in New Tampa. We got take out and it was perfectly cooked. I got the Amazing duck which was served with a sweet and sour sauce with pineapple which was delicious. We also had the pork dumplings that tasted delicious. Definitely recommend this place. Best Thai food I've had in Tampa.

My husband and I came in around 6pm on a Saturday for dinner and I will start off with how beautiful of an ambiance the restaurant has. For an appetizer we ordered the mixed sampler as it comes with 2 pieces of 5 of the appetizers (crab Rangoon, Thai spring rolls, fried shrimp, gyoza, and curry puffs). We enjoyed the appetizers. The crab Rangoon had too much curry and not enough crab. I didn't even realize I was eating the crab Rangoon if it weren't for the cream cheese. It was tasty in its own way, but not a crab Rangoon. The spring rolls were a bit bland. Overall a 8/10. As an entree, I ordered the signature pad thai, which comes with chicken and shrimp. Overall, I was disappointed in my dish. It was all one note and it didn't really taste like a typical pad Thai. I tasted no peanuts or peanut sauce. It almost had a sweet tomato or bell pepper type saucy flavor to it. Like I was eating red spaghetti. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the chicken was quite dry. I had a lot left and didn't take it home. Overall, 3/10. My husband ordered two sushi rolls and they were HUGE portions. No wonder each rolls costs as much as an entree. The fish was absolutely delicious. No negative comments about the sushi. If we return, we'll probably only come for the sushi and appetizers. Overall, 10/10. Server was friendly and attentive. 10/10 on service.

Best Thai food in Tampa with a great mix of flavors and affordable. Me and my wife have been eating at this place for the last 5 years and keep coming back. They have the best curries and pineapple fried rice. Love this place.
