Tequila Cantina Mexican Kitchen

Tequila Mexican Restaurant 2 in Bellevue, TN. We happened by and hoped this Tex-Mex place was more Mex than Tex, or at least had more authentic good food. We weren't disappointed. On our visit, the place was packed and full of energy. Although the host on duty was as cold as the weather outside, the rest of the staff was great. Friendly, spirited, helpful. Colorful murals and traditional Mexican artwork adorning the walls left no doubt this was a Mexican restaurant. The interior was clean and gave the casual vibe of a chain restaurant rather than an authentic Mexican place.However food and drinks are more important. We tried the Margaritas of course, and they were well prepared, strong, but not so strong that spills take the varnish off the table. The menu ranges from modern takes of Mexican cuisine like Elote Mexicana (street corn), to the standby chips and salsa which were fresh and flavorful, with just the right amount of kick. Tacos, Burritos, Fajitas. Your typical options. We tried a couple of the mains, and were not necessarily memorable, but were good and satisfying. The Margaritas were ok but they look fun with an umbrella lol Although friendly, we were there on Christmas Eve, and the place was filled with a couple of large parties, and almost every other table/booth were full. Service was a bit slow at times, but that can be expected given how busy they were. When the server was able to attend to us, they were friendly and helpful. This is a solid choice for Mexican (Tex-Mex) food in Bellevue. It won't be the greatest meal you've ever had, but you won't be disappointed either.

Always consistent and I look forward to visiting The Villages for this restaurant! Service and food are always excellent! Must stop anytime we're in town for business.

$50 fir lunch with 1 beer was kinda high for food that was ok but nothing special. My wife ordered a lunch special that was priced a $1 lower on the menu. Food was not seasoned very much, beans & rice standard fare. It was an ok lunch but nothing special enough for me to rush back. However, The service was very good, but not very speedy.

Authentic vibe. Was greeted in Spanish upon arrival. Friendly fast service. Food was flavorful and portion sizes were large, no shrink-flation here! I only finished half of my burrito bc it was huge and covered in cheese, yum. My mezcal mule was strong and tasty. I think this is a solid Mexican spot, and my husband I left satisfied with the experience, food, and price.

Good food, good service, mhh ambiance. First time visiting this restaurant. Arrived just after 4pm and were seated promptly. Took about 10 minutes between placing order to food coming out to table. Food was hot and freshWe were seated in a booth against the wall and found the room's acoustics poor as I easily heard the conversations at the table across the aisle from us. And the house margarita was too sour for my taste. Will probably return but not rushing in

This restaurant is very well decorated. The lamps above each table look authentic. Our meals from the lunch menu were very tasty. Our server was responsive but a tad hurried, even though we were at one of 6 tables that were occupied. I enjoyed my tacos. The chips and salsa were great. $6 for a Corona seems steep, but I guess that is a restaurant price.

My Mixed fajitas was spectacular. The service was excellent and the portions were large. Large outdoor seating area. Full service bar. Highly recommend.

Fab food. Quality quantity and service is excellent!!!Presentation and ambiance was also equally impressive.

I've eaten here a few times now, and the food has been consistently good. I have to be on a low sodium diet and they were able to make me fish tacos without adding salt to the fish. They also do not salt their chips. The guacamole is excellent. And they also made it for me without adding salt. They do get very busy, and I've had to wait for my check a couple of times, so if you don't have time to wait, maybe ask for your check right away. I'd prefer to wait for my check than be rushed!!!

The service has gone down hill from the previous trip to this restaurant. The chip and sausa are not as good either. If you don't order a alcoholic drink the wait staff does not was to bother coming back very fast. Food other wise as fare.
