A pit stop at a Shell station revealed a hidden Thai food place. I take opportunities as they arise so I bought some Thai food to-go for lunch. There was nothing really to prepare you for this suprise, no outdoor signage until your by the front and I did not see it the first time as I walked in.An elderly Thai lady takes your order and hastily prepares your food as you wait. There are a couple tables if you want to eat in. She placed an ad in my bag that offers internet ordering for pick-up or delivery at tastythai9.com. A very clever way to sell food and grow a business.I ordered Pineapple Fried Rice, Orange Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. The rice had a variety of things in it and was pretty good. I tasted a hint of curry, it was unlike any rice we had eaten as we are not familiar with that dish. The wife liked it and came for more. The Orange Chicken was very tasty but it was hard and chewy, like breaded chicken jerky. Very odd, I wonder if it is always that way. Loved the flavor, disliked the hard chewy chicken pieces. Last was the Shrimp Pad Thai. I really enjoyed that dish. It will be a staple item for me. Wonderfully seasoned with succulent shrimp and all kinds of morsels and bits in with the noodles.It is very convenient, very fresh and kinda like homemade by this lady right in front of you. A sizeable menu to order from with drinks and desserts. You can request the heat level you like or none at all. I expext to be trying a few more of these dishes since they are local, fresh and convenient.

This place got good selection of menu and delicious food. The major problem is it operates by only one lady. We were there waiting for 45 minutes after ordering because there was a big order ahead of us. We had chicken satay, papaya salad, shrimp drunken noodle, laab. The food was good but was it worth our time waiting? I would avoid the peak lunch, dinner hour or call ahead .

Don't be deceived bc this place is in a gas station. It's super clean and the food is made fresh to order. The service was also great. I'll definitely be back.

Absolutely incredible Thai restaurant in a gas station! Do not let the location deter you, this food is amazing. I ordered the pad thai and my wife ordered the Tom Yum soup. They even made the soup vegan for her! Both of us enjoyed our food, with the pad thai being some of the best I've ever had. They were incredibly kind and the service was great.

Delicious!!! I tried this place on a whim and wow it did not disappoint. I tried a soup, a stir fry, and a curry. All the dishes were flavorful. I ordered via their website and did pickup. The food was ready when I arrived. Although this place is in a gas station do not discount it. This was some of the best Thai food I've had in a while.

Such a good spot and good food. Lunch special is only on weekday 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Hidden but worth it. Will be back once again when craving Thai food.

Like the others are saying, don't let the location fool you. The food was excellent. My shrimp tom yum soup and tofu panang curry were sooo delicious. Been looking everywhere in St. Pete and Tampa that makes a great panang since I moved here 3 years ago and I finally found it. Cook was really sweet too and she knew the right levels of spice cause some places just don't. Just wish gas station attendant wasn't playing his video games so loudly and dragging his slippers on the floor every time he walked out.

This was the best Thai food we've ever had! The spiciness of the food was perfect and the flavors were fantastic! The restaurant is inside the Shell gas station and it was clean and quiet. The owner was so sweet and we chatted a bit, I highly recommend checking out Tasty Thai Tampa, we will certainly be coming back plenty of times!
