Taste of China

Have been ordering Chinese food from that particular location for at least 10 years. Always good! Nothing fancy, just regular takeout but always tasty. The way I do expect it to be. Never had any problems with my order. So, if you want some takeout Chinese food that place is -

Solid, cheap Chinese food. I always say I don't think Tampa Bay does Chinese food well. I might have to amend that statement. I don't think we do upscale Chinese food well, but cheap Chinese food? Now, I can say we have options. I drive by this shopping area all the time, but I never stopped before. I decided to check out Fresco y Mas and as I was leaving I noticed Taste of China. I pulled up Yelp to make sure it didn't have the worst reviews in the world, like less than three stars, and when I saw it had three and a half stars, I decided to check it out.First thing I noticed was it is hot! It is an open kitchen so the heat goes to the front. Luckily there are seats under the AC/fan so it wasn't that bad waiting. It's nice having an open kitchen because you see them making it right in front of you! That's some killer transparency. I got a small version of Beef Fried Rice, Beef and Broccoli, and Chicken Lo Mein. I chose very standard dishes, because it was for my husband, mainly. Well, it was supposed to be and then I devoured a lot of it. The Beef and Broccoli was my favorite by far. The beef was so tender and flavorful. I also really enjoyed the Beef Fried Rice. I thought the Lo Mein was ok, but that turned out to be my husband's favorite. He said it is the best in all of Tampa. I would say my husband is the demographic these Chinese places target so he would know. One thing I appreciate is they really pack in the food in the containers. I took a pic, but the pt and qt sizes are hanging above the register. I thought the pt looks a little small, but they shoved in so much food! We had enough for two dinners. This is our new go to Chinese take out place. They have a ton of variety for cheap. You need cash if you order less than $7 worth. I first thought, how would anyone order less than $7 worth? Turns out they have a lunch special where everything is $5.85! That's insane! Yes, I will be back and can't wait to try even more.

WOAH - this place really stepped it up! Previously, I would've given them 3 stars, but I've returned at least once a week for the past couple weeks just for their lunch specials; It's only $6.50 w/tax included! I can't believe it! Prices only raised to 0.25-0.50 during the pandemic as a result of food shortages. I had no problems w/that at all!The first dish I ordered was Beef and Broccoli. I was surprised at how tender it was. It is thin pieces of beef and I think a lot of Chinese cooking includes baking soda to help w/making the meat a lot less chewy, soft & velvety. That was the case w/this dish - Beef and Broccoli as well as Beef and Chinese Broccoli is highly recommended! Usually, when I cook Chinese at home, I also use baking soda when I marinate my beef and it doesn't come close to this good! The Broccoli was so fresh and I got a lot as well! They include fresh wok pork stir fry rice and let me get wonton soup because I'm not an egg roll girl!Call in your order and it's ready 10-15 min. They also auto text you to remind you when you can come to pickup the meal! No indoor dining because of Covid-19 at the moment! :(

You can never go wrong with this little spot located next to liquor store and fresco y mas . My wife always orders the pork fried rice , egg fu young, lo main ,and egg rolls . We've tried other things but this has been a hit with the kids since we all like it this is dinner on those days that my wife has had a long day at work .

Ok... we got here by leaving the house and our 6 year old son gave us directions... (travel North, travel East, etc....) a few turns and we were on Sheldon, saw the sign for Chinese and went in.Garlic Broccoli - I ordered this, solid.General Tso's Chicken - husband ordered and he proclaimed it the best since we have moved to Florida.Potstickers - got gobbled up by the 6 year old!Hot and Sour Soup - too spicy!! (but, if you like spicy, you might like this one)Fried Rice - 6 year old liked it, but it was just OK in my taste.I do not think I would opt to go back.

Best Chinese Spot in town n country for traditional Chinese takeout ... also.m very reasonably priced.The staff is always welcoming and they make sure to get my order right everytime. My favorite items are their crab Rangoon's, and the egg foo young. Also try their house fried rice spicy! Believe me you won't regret it

The Sheldon location is the worst at answering the phone for pickup orders. But it's the only place close to home that makes the sesame chicken the way I like it.

Decided to stop by since it was on my way. Plus it had been 5 years since the last time I ordered from them.Ordered general tso chicken combo. Couldn't eat it, the chicken was spongy and all breading , the rice was the only thing that was ok. And I love Chinese take out. But I couldn't eat the food, plus the fact that I was four bites in and my stomach started hurting made me stop eating. The egg rolls were partially empty inside. Hopefully I caught them on a bad night(35 mins before closing) They used to be decent back in the day.But try them out and let me know.

Great food! My order was ready quickly and included everything I needed. The portion for the sesame chicken was enough for two meals.
