TASTE Downtown Tampa

For a hotel restaurant, the food was good. The menu is limited, but had many of the basics that a family with kids would need. The food came out pretty quick and the servers checked on us multiple times if we needed additional items. The ambiance is casual and a little loud with either sports or music being played on the restaurant speakers.Tip: get there before 10pm since that is when they accept last kitchen orders (restaurant closes at 11pm). Order to-go if you want to eat in a quiet environment with cleaner tables.

Another old review is sitting in my draft. This one is from our Tampa trip. Taste is in the hotel we stayed in, the Embassy Suite at the Bay. First, we went for lunch, and Paul, the bartender, served us great snacks. I called it snacks because it's pretty much tapas style, small plates, and small food. We tried the pizza, avocado salad, and chicken wings, and we loved them, especially my avocado salad, which had tasty dressing, and I ate them all. We went back for the second time too and ordered to go on our last day there. I ordered takeout from Michael. The bartender was the one serving everybody. He was the one-person show, so you see him running around doing many things, but it was manageable. Besides the bar, the seats are couches and sofas. It's a great place for lunch and dinner or to relax. Yes, the food at Taste is tasty, too!

During my stay at the hotel I seized the opportunity to immerse myself in the culinary delights offered by the charming restaurant nestled on the ground floor, aptly named Taste. The menu, while modestly curated, showcased a delightful array of dishes that sparked my curiosity, and I eagerly embraced the gastronomic adventure that awaited me. The service was great. My server was very attentive and full of smiles and he had cool ponytail along with a great personality, making the done experience even better.The menu, though modestly curated, unveiled a captivating selection of dishes that ignited my curiosity and beckoned me to embark on an enticing gastronomic adventure. The service was exceptional; my server radiated warmth and attentiveness, complemented by a cheerful smile and an effortlessly stylish ponytail that added to the overall delightful experience. concoction that danced on my palate, captivating my senses with its rich and decadent flavors. This delightful drink was a perfect prelude to the feast that followed. Alongside this indulgence, I savored their mouthwatering cheeseburger, perfectly grilled to juicy perfection, and the Sriracha-tossed chicken tenders that offered a tantalizing kick. The fries, oh the fries! I can confidently declare them a resounding 10 out of 10--so irresistibly crispy and bursting with flavor that they are an absolute must-try for any visitor. Naturally, I felt compelled to bring home a delectable dessert to savor later, and I find myself regretting not indulging in an additional slice because the chocolate cake was simply out of this world. Its rich, velvety texture and intense, bold flavor were beyond words, transcending any conventional description. It was an utterly divine experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a heavenly treat.

Definitely a vibe! We ate here 3 times in 2 days.It's so cute and they have good food and drinks. The bartender Michael was amazing and very accommodating. He went out of his way to find a phone charger for me. If you visit I highly recommend the chicken and waffles and meat lovers pizza. I also tried the island pork shanks but personally did not like them at all. The drinks however were very good. We had a Negroni and margaritas. I really enjoyed the ambiance & music.

I'm usually wary of hotel restaurant , but I was staying here for two days and decided to have lunch at Taste one of the days. I wanted to start with the buffalo cauliflower- and it was so good I ordered a second one and that became my entire lunch. It held it's crispiness and had a good heat level. I thought the portion was really good as well. After such a good experience, I decided to do lunch at Taste on day 2 as well. This time I opted for the BLTA and in an effort at health, did a side Caesar instead of fries. The salad was disappointing as much of the lettuce was brown. But the sandwich was really great. Crisp bacon and an amazing aioli on it. It definitely had a sweet/salty vibe. Service was excellent and fast and was easily one of the best hotel restaurants I've tried.

The food was delicious, actually better than we expected it to be, because sometimes standard chain hotels have terrible food. The flatbread was delicious, it's doughy and not crispy, which is the way I like it, but some people who prefer crispy pizzas won't like it for that reason. We also had the chicken sliders, which were amazing. The chicken was tasty, crispy and not saturated with oil. The service was absolutely terrible, in fact we didn't receive any service. There was only one waitress and inside was busy. We opted to sit outside, which was a mistake, because no one came to help us.After quite a wait, a very nice man from another department came to help us. He took our order, brought our drinks and that was about it. We didn't receive any more service. My husband had to go and settle the cheque inside, because no one checked on us outside. All in all, the service was deplorable, but the food was excellent.

Great hotel restaurant. Fantastic staff. Mike, Paul and Angel and fantastic. Small menu but all options are good and I hear they are going to be updating the menu soon. Perfect place to eat especially if you are staying in the hotel. Use that room credit for a good meal and tip the servers!

Nice little place to grab a drink or but to eat if you don't want to venture out from the hotel. The bar is nicely decorated and comfortable. There was plenty of friendly staff on hand to process drink and food orders. The menu is a bit small but should have some choices for everyone.We ordered the bruschetta flatbread. The flatbread was a bit tough but not burnt. The balsamic vinegar drizzle was very tasty. There were plenty of tomatoes and arugula to accent the drizzle.

Not very impressed. The buffalo cauliflower was very one dimensional in flavor. Just a basic cayenne based wing sauce straight out of the bottle with no depth to it. Parmesan fries were good. Martini tasted watered down....the reason I order a martini is because it's nothing but booze. This one wasn't. We came here because their online menu said they had a black bean burger instead of the ubiquitous vegetarian "Inedible Burger." Sadly, the menu was wrong...impossibly wrong...so our whole reason for choosing this restaurant was a wash. I was surprised because the reviews were excellent. I can't really recommend it.

Sophisticated and delicious bites! Great staff! Holler at Jo! He was super pleasant. We had the deviled eggs topped with Buffalo chicken and shrimp and the folks beside us really enjoyed their food as well. This place is tucked inside of the Embassy Suites.
