This place is an institution! Been here for I don't know how many years....But it's been a minute since I had been back...Finally made it in again since it was remodeled and with newer owners and I have to say, I like the refreshed and brighter look!They say they still have the best sandwiches in town - my friend ordered a Reuben to go and said it was fantastic! So, I believe it!The beer was cold, the bartender was friendly, chatty and fun. It has pool , as always, and several dart lanes. I might have to go back for darts!!! I hope it is able to withstand any changes Britton Plaza is planning on....even if they bulldoze the entire plaza, I hope the Tapper stays with it!

It's a cute place with darts, some video games, and a pool table. The seating is comfortable, the staff was super nice, they carry 2 NA beers and a wide draft selection, and their food was great! A great spot for game day especially.

I called in and ordered to go. The girl on the phone was very sweet!I ordered Ruben sandwich because it was the lunch special of the day and it did not disappoint. It was served on delicious rye bread and was packed with meat! I could only finish half.The potato salad was delicious too! I added the salt and pepper.The have really cleaned the inside of this bar up. They don't allow smoking inside which is nice because I usually stop in during work and don't like smelling like cigarettes.Definitely check this place out if you're in south Tampa. It seems like a fun neighborhood bar and they have a bunch of drink specials too. Lunch specials are $8 everyday. Grab you Sammie! The man who makes them makes them with a lot of love!

I've rode by here & thought to check it out just never got around to it until today... I made time since I was in the area. When I saw they had food I was like yessss, I'm going! Gina greeted me with a warm down home smile, making me feel comfy immediately. I ordered the southwest turkey sandwich...absolutely divine!! The turkey is plenty & everything tasted fresh & delicious! Prices are still reasonable & it definitely feels like a locals gem... I will definitely return & they stay open late. Only con is: there's a slight smell in the place just smells like old building & pipes. Ask for Gina when you go!!

Haven't been in a long time Service and the sandwiches are not what they used to be since one of the long time Bartenders left. However, I understand there is new ownership, so I guess we'll just sit and back and see.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to try this place. It's a dive bar that allows smoking (so not exactly my thing), but the food they serve is really good and cheap. I had the Reuben. It was well-toasted, full of corned beef and tangy sauerkraut. The potato salad it came with tasted homemade (good). The serving size was amazing for the price (only $7.95). Most importantly, the food was ready in 5 minutes.I'll happily return for another sandwich.

So, this is my third visit to Tappers. I found it when looking for hole in wall bars. My main issue with place is smoking in there as it just permeates your clothes. The food not bad, the small grill area is behind bar. But, the highlight would be the cheap beer. A small pitcher is only $5.00, there is only 4 varieties on tap. But this bar is a straight throw back to the standard american dive bar. So, if you don't mind smelling of a cigarette and enjoy cheap American beer. This is the place for you.

Was in the area visiting Tampa for the first time. This place was close to my hotel so decided to give it a try. Glad I did! Staff was cool af. Vibes were good. Me and my buddy got sandwiches and they were great. Beers were good and cold. Definitely a spot I'll be visiting anytime in Tampa.

Tappers Pub is probably the best kept secret in Tampa although being around for 40 plus years. I've been visiting this place through the years and the food and service has been spot on. But last visit before this one I went home and smelled like a pack of cigarettes. Not knocking the food or service but the smoke for me was a turn off seeing that I quit smoking ( for health reasons) . I recently heard that they were non smoking so I ventured back. Walked in was greeted by the bartender Gina. Was amazed by the transformation of this place . Clean and crisp .new tv's and sound system. . Really didn't think non smoking affected the regulars as they went in and out. Ordered the Pastrami on Rye and Potato salad hasn't change. The Olympic Games were playing on the TV's and the banter in the corner was contagious with the feeling you were at Cheers. Ordered the Corn beef sandwich to see if what's the same as I remember unbelievable hot and delicious. The locals were saying that they ordered the NFL ticket for the season. Cant wait to pop in again .

Felicia is awesome, first time there I was taken care of !! Food was delicious and well priced
