Taco King

Had just left Taco Dirty and was less than satisfied with my tacos so i was looking for another place on Taco Tuesday that would hopefully hit the spot a little more.... Well Taco King did not disappoint. The tacos were a good size and only $3 a taco and were hot and delicious! Will definitely go back next time I am in Tampa.

The Taco King Food Truck is located off North Armenia Avenue, North of i275, 1 block north of where Howard and Armenia merge, next to a Citgo Gas Station, McDonald's, Advance Auto, and Dunkin Donuts. Although the Taco King Food Truck has set up permanent shop next to the Citgo gas station, there aren't any picnic tables for sitting or eating nearby and it would definitely be nice to have. I was very disappointed that the Taco King Food Truck took the fish tacos off their menu, did not serve pulled pork, did not serve shrimp, and 2 of their tacos are only served over the weekend from Friday to Sunday. This left me with only 4 types of taco options including Al Pastor, Chroizo, Carne Asada, and Pollo. Since I'm tired of chicken and not a big fan of chorizo, it only left me with 2 options- the Al Pastor and the Carne Asada. Most taco places offer shrimp, pulled pork, flavored steak, and flavored pulled pork tacos. The Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos were a bit on the small side and he marinade used wasn't my favorite. The house made orange and green hot sauces helped make up for the marination short comings but the hot sauces were not quite as good as my favorite taco Food Truck Loli's Mexican Cravings. Aside from tacos, Taco King Food Truck also serves Quesadillas, Burritos, Quesurittos, and Gringa Flour Tortillas. If you're looking for a better taco food truck, I highly recommend Loli's Mexican cravings with better marinades, more meat options, and better house made hot sauces. Loli's Mexican Cravings is mobile though so you'll have to check their schedule to see when they're available. If you're looking for good tacos in the same area north of the interstate I recommend Taqueria Emanuel off North Macdill and West Columbus.

I randomly drove past this and thought I'd give it a try. Not much to say about it, unfortunately. Its a taco truck with no place to consume your food. Maybe there's a funky little law that stops them from doing that since it is in a gas station parking lot? I'm not sure but anywho they had three tacos for me to choose from Chorizo, Carne Asada, and Pollo. They were out of Al pastor. I decided to order all three since I had no clue what I wanted. It took about 10 minutes for my food and I was the only one there. I ate my tacos in the car before heading into the traffic home. The chorizo was good, Carne Asada was super small pieces and dry. As for the chicken, it was good and probably my favorite out of the three.

Omg!! This place is AMAZING!!! We tried the tacos, burrito, and the quesadilla. Everything was so flavorful and fresh. Great service and fast! Also, the price point is very fair. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Mexican food

New Fav Alert !!!!!! All the hype about the Al Pastor (Pork meat). It's marinated in spices and then cooked on a vertical rotisserie called a trompo, also known as a spinning top. Flavorful, meaty and moist in every bite. Not need for the side salsas on this one. Also had the pollo (chicken), chorizo (sausage) and the carne asada (steak). All were worth the price of admission. You can add tomatoes to any taco at no additional charge. I apologise for not having photos but when he handed me the bag, the flavors and the heat took over my body. I got you on the next episode. Forget Tacos Tuesdays, tacos everyday. Well, except for Monday since they are closed. Toma!!!!!!

Never left a review before, this place is FKN amazing. I was recommended the chorizo tacos and loved them. Wanted to drive back after eating them and get dos mas. Go here and support local business, it's delicious.

Best tacos and burritos! Highly recommend anyone in the Tampa area to stop by. You won't regret it.

This is the Taco King. I love the street tacos here! Carne asada. Get the orange sauce. It's hot and spicy!

Pretty good tacos. New menu too. Not bad ....... they aren't open as their hours state but when they are, i like to come here and grab some tacos.

This place use to have one of the best tacos I've had a few years ago. It use to have fresh made tortilla now Deff not. I've quit going few months back because each time it's like they give you less onion an cilantro. This place deff has a lot of potential an could easily be best tacos in Tampa if they went back to the tortilla they had in the past an stop being stingy with the cilantro an onion please. Other than that the meat is pretty good.
