I absolutely love buying shrimp and other seafood at Superior seafood. It is easy to get to and being "cash only" doesn't bother me. It is well worth getting a big box of fresh shrimp that will feed many people at a great price. I stop by every time we plan to have a big party so I can have enough shrimp for our guests. We make shrimp cocktail, fried shrimp and shrimp pasta. It is a seafood lover's feast! I certainly plan to stop by to pick up some seafood before the approaching holidays!

This seafood market may be an eyesore, but the price and quality of the shrimp will have me coming back! Ernie was very friendly and accomodating. The day I stopped in, shrimp was the only thing in stock. I purchased five pounds of 16/20 shrimp at $10 per pound. That's a 50% savings from my usual grocery store shrimp, and only $1 per pound over the national average.I cooked some up that night, and they were really good! Better than most shrimp I have purchased in this area. I made Szechaun shrimp, and couldn't be more pleased with the main ingredient! The 16/20 shrimp are perfect for grilling, and I think that will be my next meal. One thing I don't like, other than the appearance of the market, is they only take cash. That almost brought the rating down to three stars, but due to the quality and price of the shrimp, Superior Seafoods is well deserving of a four stars. With today's technology, I don't see any reason not to take credit.I do recommend calling ahead to see if they have on-hand what you were looking to purchase.

Any place that has 10 shrimp boats that look like Forest Gumps docked out back is going to be great. Guys were super helpful, we got the head on shrimp and some scallops. If you're looking for seafood and you're in the area just go. It'll be worth it for sureCash Only

Being a New Englander who could drive to the fishing boats to buy fresh fish and lobster right off the boats for CHEAP, imagine how happy I was when hubby read about the shrimp boats in Tampa where you could go to buy fresh shrimp. Of course we had to take a ride over to get some fresh shrimp.Well folks, there is nothing sold here not frozen. Yes, it is flash frozen on the boat as soon as they are caught, but that is frozen, not fresh, no matter how fast they were frozen. Same thing with their stone crab claws. They also had grouper. I didn't see it so I can't say if it was frozen or not but it was $15 a pound, not much of a deal. Shrimp was from $10-$12 a pound sold in 5 lb boxes. Claws sold in 5lb boxes for $60. Now this may be fine if you have a big family or a spare freezer in the garage, but we are senior citizens on fixed incomes with one regular freezer in our kitchen. Everything had to be paid with cash. In this day and age we never carry cash so we couldn't buy anything if we wanted to.The gentleman we spoke with was very nice. He explained why the shrimp were frozen and we had a few laughs with him. But we couldn't buy his products, no cash. All I could picture was getting home and dumping out a 5lb block of shrimp on the counter, getting an ice pick and trying to pick my way to enough shrimp for dinner. Then what would I do with that block? Not convenient or practical for 2 "old" people. I'm disappointed that this may not be the place for us. I wish they made smaller boxes of shrimp for folks like us. This is Florida, there are tons of us. I'm guessing they miss a lot of sales for this reason. Hey, maybe I'll win the lottery where I'll be able to afford to buy both a new freezer for the garage and a block of shrimp to go in it!!PS: will update this review if we ever get to try their shrimp.

This is the best place for delicious fresh shrimp. A fun ride too, you get to see the ships on the dock. You do not even need to season it, it is sweet all by itself
