We were seated right away and proceeded to look at the walls decorated with fish, hunting dog art and paddles, etc. We each ordered a fish dish. I got the fish/chips and my partner ordered the catfish. Both were good, hot and crispy. The fries were crispy too!

Melanie was EXCELLANT!!! Cute as a button and loved her accent. We were told to try the prime rib because it was delicious. Tilapia with sides of baked potato and side salad. The tilapia was dry and not real warm and veggies weren't great. The side salad was large and pretty good. The butter for potatoes came in hard packaged blocks that took forever to melt on the just warm potato. The ayce catfish was good#1 that ordered prime rib said it was very good.#2 that ordered prime rib said it was flavorless and she had had better but honestly she is VERY hard to please. The fried mushrooms as an appetizer was EXCEPTIONAL.The mozarell sticks were just ok nothing special. The parking here is not good at all and of course the one Friday night we decided to go there was a car show and we had to park far away from the place. It's downtown parking with no private lot.All things considered going for the great fried mushrooms is not worth it and the rest of the food was just ok.

Salad was goodWife's main (hamburger) was not her sides were.Going to base this lowered score on nit being able to cook a basic burger and (drum roll) $4 tea (that is ridiculous). Ridiculous

This is in the square and they have several tables outside on the sidewalk. Inside is pretty large with lots of wall decor. Lunch menu is not huge, mostly seafood. Service was not great. I had the burger, which was supposed to be medium rare but was more like medium well and flavorless. Fries and slaw were good. I was not impressed with the food, service or prices. Coke products but no Coke Zero

Service: 4 starsFood: 3.5 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Nice local place. We shared 2 appetizers with our friends. The mussels were delicious. I was curious about Gator so we ordered the bites, not bad, tender, for me tasted like fried oysters. I am not a breaded-fry person, so for me they were okay. My husband and I shared a bowl of Cajun Stew (?), it was full of beef chunks and very tasty. We also shared the Grouper, which was good but a little undercooked, lacking flakiness. Our friends enjoyed their meal and come here often.

Just an okay option for seafood in Inverness. The peel and eat shrimp, scallops and even veggies that come with meals are obviously from frozen, not fresh. Hushpuppies came out lukewarm and soaked in oil to the point they weren't enjoyable. If you value quality seafood, this isn't the place for you. The french fries and ranch were great.Service has always been very quick and friendly. The stale beer smell inside has much improved from my last visit in early 2024 and seemed to be a bit cleaner (less dust and grime build up on every surface around).

While on our mission to find great eateries, another wonderful discovery. I decided to venture away from the boring corporate restaurants in Spring Hill and explore the area. Stumpknockers is a unique Florida local restaurant that serves fresh food daily. When you enter, a smile greets you and continues with the servers who are very friendly and caring. The atmosphere is very Florida and very unique. We really enjoyed the fact that the food was fresh and served hot. Unlike a sports bar, the patrons were muted and respectful of other diners.

Husband and I drove to Stumpknockers on the Square, they have another location not too far away near the water, dining outside as well. This restaurant is such a cool place to go to, really get that Florida vibe and atmosphere. Decorated with lots of interesting things to look at on the walls and take in. They have specials every night, including the weekend, think Fried chicken!! They have covered outside dining along the building too. Cheerful young man welcome's you upon entering, this is a big place , lots of seating with different sections and a really nice bar where you can eat as well. Nice menu with great appetizers, sandwiches, salads, good choices in the entree's, plus the nightly specials and wonderful desserts. Went on Friday and they were getting busy but we got seated right away. Our waitress was cheerful and right on the money taking great care of us the whole time we were there. Husband had the large cut Prime Rib which you only can get on Friday, clam chowder soup, baked potato and corn on the cob. That was a man size hunk of meat and he ate the whole thing and didn't come up for air, no time for conversation let's just say. He really enjoyed his dinner. I had the beer battered fish and chips with coleslaw and seasoned fries, a huge plate of great tasting, cooked perfectly fish, I really enjoyed my dinner. Too full for dessert, think Key lime pie, coconut cream pie, cheese cake and much more. We had a great dinner and we got our bill paid in a timely fashion. Prices were comparable to most places but they really give you generous portions. Can't wait to return and dine at Stumpknockers, you gotta give it a try, you're missing out if you don't!! Debbie

Food and service was excellent as usual. However your hostess was not very good. She saw I was in a wheelchair and my wife even asked for a table and she sat us in a booth anyway and said I could sit at the end. Luckily I was able to transfer to seat. It was Sunday afternoon so it wasn't that busy( in fact there was a open table next to us) I've been coming here as long as it has been open and have never complained but today I am. It's a good thing the owner wasn't there. I would expect this from generation Z because they don't know any better but not from an older person. No wonder I don't come downtown much anymore

Great food, great service. We had the blackened catfish with veggies, baked sweet potatoes, hush puppies and a big tossed salad. large portions. Two large fillets - we're could have easily split one entree.
