Small Giant

Came to Water St on a Sunday to have a late lunch (3pm) and everywhere was closed for lunch service except for Small Giant so figured to check it out since I haven't been. The service was good and was pretty quick. As for food, it was good for bar food haha. Apparently, they're known for pizza but got something else instead. What I ordered:- French Dip: ribeye, caramelized onions, provolone, truffle aioli- TACOS CRISPY SHRIMP. Flour tortilla, queso fresco, spiced avocado, sriracha aioli (3 PER ORDER)- Cheesesteak Eggrolls: ribeye, provolone, sriracha aioli & queso drizzle- French Onion Soup: melted gruyere, provolone & mozzarella

1st pizza was doughy and they dropped half of it on the floor, which is no big deal it happens. but then they brought us another one. Also didn't taste that great. And then we got drinks and it took over 20 minutes for us to get them and they're only half full. they also were out of stock of multiple drinks?? I added pictures for proof of the half filled drink. and when we first sat down, we didn't have water for about 10 to 15 minutes and the only way to order is the QR code and apparently their printer was down so then they didn't get half of our order which obviously isn't true because they got the order for the pizza but not for the drinks?? anyway, why are we having to tip for service even though we don't have a server?? for water street this was embarrassing just overall bad service, wobbly tables, and over priced for a bad vibe.

Loved the citrus drink I had at Small Giant. It was very refreshing. The service was fast & efficient. The bar was clean & not very loud. Great spot for a quick meet & greet or date night late drinks.

I've only visited for their Christmas pop-up, but they did a spectacular job of making everything look bright and festive! The cocktails were delicious too, and despite being extremely busy (standing room only), I was surprised how fast my drinks were prepared. Looking forward to trying their regular menu at a less busy time!

I have been to Small Giant 4-5 times and previously rated it as a 5/5 on Yelp. When they first opened, portions were fairly large, service was quick, and prices were decent for the downtown area. It felt like a fun, modern spot for a weeknight dinner.However, the past 2 times that I have been to Small Giant, prices have gone up and portions have gone significantly down. This past weekend, we stopped by for date night and ordered a shared plate of brussel sprouts, the french dip, and the pastrami burger. Although our server was nice, the service was incredibly slow. It took over 30 minutes for our food to come out, our server never came to refill our waters, and we had to wait probably another 20-30 minutes to pay our bill. When we received our brussel sprouts, they were the same size as the side order despite being double the price. Additionally, the side of brussel sprouts that we ordered with the pastrami burger had an added cost which was not explained to us (this was a change from prior visits to Small Giant where there was no additional charge). The waiter was kind enough to bring out an additional side of brussel sprouts as he also admitted that the shared portion appeared small. However, we were very disappointed with the overall experience and the downward trend at this establishment. I would probably recommend Small Giant more as a bar at this point.

Went here for the first time and it was super cute. The decor was festive and aesthetic, the staff was kind and friendly, and the drinks were delicious! One thing about this place is that it's a little overpriced but they do have a decent happy hour with drinks & apps.

With the City of Tampa constantly growing so is the downtown food scene. I had high hopes for this place, love the name (super cute), reminds of a nursery rhyme. I did come with 2 other people, we sat outside which was a nice option. The food was super salty and the service was lackluster. Bummer.

I had to update my review because the food quality has majorly changed. This used to be my favorite spot in the area but now I am not sure that I will go back. The cocktails were just okay, the tater tots had an after taste, and the pizza was not good. The pizza used to be my favorite in the area but the quality of ingredients has gone way down. They changed their ordering system so you order online from the app. The wait staff was still attentive and the fries were good, but everything else tastes like ultra processed and frozen food ingredients.

Cameron really stole the show- we came in late and stayed until closing and really enjoyed having him as our server! Was very refreshing to actually have a great experience with someone who was multitasking like a machine! He even made a drink off the menu because I was being difficult! Thank you Cameron!!!

This establishment only uses QR code menus for selection, ordering, and paying. A,though that may seem fine there's no real opportunity to ask questions about their products. Did not like scrolling through the entire menu on our phones. It's inefficient for the user but I'm sure it's great for the management not having to print the menus; so much for the patron. We moved on after our first round.
