Silver Dollar Food

My family and I have been here quite a few times. Being from NY we are used to good food being discovered inside of convenience stores. We were in search for a new "bodega" & found out about Silver through a foodie review video and decided to give it a try. Our first visit we ordered a bunch of different items (all breakfast). I had a breakfast platter which consisted of cheese grits, Jhonny links (mild) & scrambled eggs. My husband ordered the catfish with grits and eggs. The grits were under seasoned HOWEVER I'm sure this is done intentionally as to not overly season (they provide salt and pepper with every order). They do offer a few lunch items such as wings, fries, corn dogs, and chicken tenders. The women serving are very friendly. Definitely give this place a try if you're looking for a quick bite to eat.

I've been trying to call them for the past couple hours because they built my credit card twice for forty six twenty three. The first transaction went through that was fine but the second transaction on the same day for the same amount I did not approve.

Always pleasant. Grrrrreat food. It looks less than on the outside but once u go in, everyone is friendly and helpful from the food counter to the check out!!!! This is my favorite "go to" breakfast spot. LOVE IT

This place serves the best home cooked meals. Real home cooking. This is not processed foods. I go here weekly. Great price.

Sometimes you gotta go to the hood to eat good! Nice diamond in the ruff. Staff reminds me off yo grandma & aunties back in the days lol. I love them ladies in the back that handle the food!

This hidden gem is inside of a convenience store located on Chelsea and 40th St. The outside of the store is a sore sight to your eyes and you may think you need body armor to go inside as there are people loitering around on the property. Just look past the ugly blue building and the weird people pacing back and forth. This establishment is literally a hole in the wall. As you make your way to the back of the store the aroma of good cooking will tickle your nostrils. They serve breakfast as well as lunch. Breakfast can get pretty busy especially on Fridays. They offer regular grits, cheese grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, fish, and fried chicken. Each meal comes with biscuit or toast. All for $5. There is also a line for lunch if you go between 11-12. There is a variety of home cooked soul food. Each day they offer different meats, but the main sides are macaroni and cheese, broccoli, okra and tomatoes, lima beans, black eyed peas, and plenty other sides to choose from. Some of the meats they offer are, beef stew, fried chicken, baked chicken, pork chops, oxtails, neck bones and the list goes on and on. The prices are fair for what you are served. I can usually eat off a large take out for 2 days. The price for the large is roughly $9 but well worth it. You are offered fried corn bread or sweet cornbread. Go with the fried cornbread. Do it!! I dare you to!! If you don't, you will regret your life.

Food was hot n fresh! Awesome customer service and great price! This and grape Arizona just under $11! Can't wait to try the lunch and dinner!

Food is pretty good and the staff serving the food are very pleasant. However, the employees up front and the owner are pretty rude. I was just there on 9/15 in the AM the person who took my payment was behind the counter smoking a cigarette. REALLY? Smoking in an establishment that sells food and your smoking? Can customers smoke inside the store? They also allow sketshy looking people to just loiter outside the store. Mofo's staring you down like they sizing you on or something. I'm always strapped when I go but, I shouldn't be made to feel like I need too. Anyways! Fatboy behind the counter! Stop smoking in the store man. It stinks! And tell them hood mofo's to stop loitering in front of the store. It's bad for business. Or maybe you just don't care.

The owner is a piece of !!!! He stole my chk and accused me of cashing a bad CHK,BUT anybody with a half of brain and just a tad of common sense would understand that if someone cashes a bad CHK they don't go back to cash another one THEY DISAPPEAR!! He was cashing my checks without me having a ID SO I'll tell you exactly what happened,One of his workers got my name and wrote it on a CHK and slide it thru knowing it would be blamed on me..... So owner PIECE OF figure out who's stealing from you cause it Dan sure isn't Me!!!! And next time you threaten me ther will be consequences I promise you that.... BTW the CHK you stole has been cancelled so you won't get the $650 bucks you almost stole from me.... THANK YOU FOR SHOWING YOUR TRU COLORS......
