This is a great smaller local market. If you truly want to purchase items from local sellers, this is the place to go.I have come home with plants, candles, purses, jewelry, and jam, all made from craftspeople located in the Tampa Bay area. There usually seems to be about 25-30 booths of crafts and food, a produce stand, and about 10 food/drink trucks on any given 2nd Sunday of the month. There are also local interest booths - this past weekend there was a Seminole Height's booth, advertising the Seminole Height's Home Tour and selling t-shirts.If you do want to eat something you've purchased here, find the shady section of grass in front of the stage area, which usually has local musicians performing for your listening pleasure. There is a great children's section, too, with crafts, play area, and specialty booths geared towards kids. Also not to be missed is the opportunity to take a tour of historic Hillsborough High School, which is the oldest high school in Hillsborough County, dating back to 1928. They have student ambassadors giving guided tours, and it was pretty cool to see the inside of this massive structure. There is usually a sign stuck in the ground near the front entrance of the school giving more details about when the tours start. The market only operates from October through May because it is too darn hot the rest of the year. Make sure you wear your sunscreen/hat too, because there is minimal shade to be had.

Seminole Heights Sunday Farmers Market is cool cool. But then again, all of the Tampa Bay Markets are pretty cool and unique in their own special way. They all have a different set up, or atmosphere to me. Many of the vendors that I came across here are not at all of the markets, so it is great to come here and see different vendors than at other markets. Some of my favorite vendors are the lady that sells the home made jam. She has a strawberry mango jam, and a ginger pear jam, and a mango habanero jam just to name a few of her selections. You can sample everything, and then pick out your favorite for $8.There is also a vendor that sells bird baths that are shaped like flowers, and made of plates. There are jewelry vendors, plants and flowers like orchids, boiled peanuts that sit in beer, different types of breads, fruit and veggie vendors and food vendors. My favorite vendor is Maine-iacs, the vendor that sells the Lobster Rolls, Lobster Bisque, and Whoopie Pies. I also want to try the Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. I have tried the strawberry and regular lemonade which are really good from Simply Lemonade. Often there is music playing, and there are a lot of people just strolling around on their Sunday. It's a great place to hang out for a bit, and then maybe go to a nearby place for brunch such as Ella's American Art Café, or get some coffee, or a beer at Independent. There are lots of options around you. You do have to drive but everything is all pretty close. This is a nice family and pet friendly hang out spot on a Sunday, so definitely check it out. All of the Tampa Bay markets can be found at tampabaymarkets.com. I can easily say that I have been to all of them, and they are all just a fun, carefree vibe.

Pros: sells local fruits and vegetables, honey, goat cheese, eggs. Probably 5-6 food trucks and yummy local foods. Parking isn't very difficult to find! Cons: I wish the produce area was slightly bigger and prices of the honey and maple syrup is expensive!

I don't know how I got lost, but I did and when I finally found it it was almost over.During the time I had left I thoroughly enjoyed everything I saw, tasted, but and just appreciate it. I think it is great for Tampa to have more and more and more weekly fresh food markets for us to buy from. It's much cheaper than going to Whole Foods or anything like that and its to be much fresher.I know some of the stuff I bought has been picked the day before by the people that were selling it and that to me is fresh so how could you ask for anything better than that. There are also extra things like crafts and stuff that you can find that you cannot find anywhere else. It doesn't matter if you want to buy them, they are unique, individualized and one of a kind. So if you're looking for a special gift for someone maybe this is the place to look.I've loved everything I bought and I love knowing that it was locally sourced and was quote unquote organic. Also enjoy that once I got it told him that and consumed it and realized have fresh it tasted and it was just absolutely terrific.I think this fresh market is a great idea and I wish it happened more than once a week. You get premium food, vegetables, fruits, crafts... What more do you want. I forgot to mention it was all affordable price. What's a girl to do? You gonna go where you can get the best bang for your buck.

A pretty good local market with a lot of unique options for gifts, produce and food, but still rather small. The Seminole Heights Sunday morning market runs from October to April on the lawn of Hillsborough High School, a really gorgeous school in Seminole Heights. Local vendors set up their tents and offer free samples of some of the best locally made and grown foods and goods. You can buy lots of great produce here -- anything from lettuce, honey, salsa, cakes, cookies and fruits and veggies. Some vendors also have breads and pastries as well. There are also quite a few food vendors and food trucks that show up at this market. You can buy crepes, sausage, juice pops, coffee and a whole lot of other food here if you get hungry while you're walking around. I think these markets are great for finding cool little gifts you won't get anywhere else and they're also a really fantastic way to keep the local community environment alive. I do think this market tends to be a tad on the small side, though. You can walk through it fairly quickly making for a pretty short experience. The location itself is different than the market in Hyde Park Village which has tons of other shops and restaurants you can stop into after shopping, which is why I am giving this particular market four stars.

I like everything about the market. It's in the grounds of Hillsborough High, a lovely Gothic brick building. There are great food trucks and stands like Maine-iacs lobstah rolls, riddle on the griddle grilled cheese, roots down,. Thai jerky, sauces to try, other samplings, plants,.crafts and a cheery neighborhood with passionate peeps who take pride in their community. I enjoyed my visit a lot even though I ate too much. Oh and took 20 Shekels bread home! Love them heat in toaster oven or oven and it ROCKS!!! So good. Thanks friends. :)

What a great way to enjoy a Sunday morning.. Strolling around tasting food and seeing the artisan offerings of crafters and bakers. I tried a Grilled Cheese sandwich from Riddle on the Griddle and it was amazing. My hubby is watching his carbs and went for a chicken yakitori with cabbage instead of noodles. I had a taste and it was so quite good. After walking around we went to the fresh produce stand and walked away with 3 bags filled with veggies for just $14! We will return next month. It's held on the 2nd Sunday through i believe May. I had back a star because it can be bigger. :)

Loved loved loved this market. It's a nice quaint get together of some of the most unique and talented vendors in our local area. It was not overly crowded and there were ample vendors to choose from for a quick bite and drink. Highly recommend this market!

Rain or shine, I always find myself visiting the Seminole Heights market. There a numerous things that keeps me coming back: wether it's the local vendors or the local people, I always end up having a great time. I also feel like I am contributed to the community by shopping at a local market purchasing fresh produce or popsicles. There are regular vendors that attend regularly like the gentlemen who sells fresh baked banana bread (even with gluten free options) straight out of his portable oven, the popsicle stand (try the coconut lime), or the folks that sells jewelries with stones from all over the world. Everyone has a story and there is something sure to catch your eye when you go. I highly recommend and the market is very dog friendly as well.

Probably one of the biggest markets I've seen in the area. There's a lot of variety here! In one trip around I saw handmade soaps, granola, art made of found items, beautiful flowers, and so much more. There's also a line up of food tents if you get hungry after all of that walking. I will definitely be coming back to purchase gifts for loved ones or to splurge for a treat.
