Third time here , everyone was fantastic. They curated their menu to be interesting but not over the top. Everything is done well! The cocktails were great, wine list pretty decent ! Cute ambiance . A bit loud in side , sat outside this time , they recently re did it . Super cute ! Will continue to return!

Interesting menu with lots of fresh fish and seafood, plus burgers and not your average specials! Our server Nina was excellent- she gave great recommendations and we tried them all. We had a larger party, but drinks and food all came at the same time which was good. The fresh fish special was black grouper. It was fantastic. The smoked fish appetizer came with lots of accompaniments which enhanced the dish. The roasted clams were prepared over pasta, and tasted very fresh and sweet. Everyone was happy with their dinner. Don't miss the desserts- we split 3 specials, all great. We will definitely be back.

Another outstanding meal. The oysters were a great start and then we hadThe outstanding ceviche. It comes in a good sized pot with lots of fish and broth. We split the Branzino which was perfectly cooked.

Awesome service seated at the bar with Dylan! One of my favorite happy hours (4:30-6 Tuesdays-Saturdays) in St Pete...the You Smokey Devil cocktail is perfection in a glass. The beef tenderloin tostadas served with pickled onion and jalapeño are amazing and even better when paired with a dirty martini. And still the best pork belly I've found anywhere!

This place was all show no bite. Almost quite literally. We ordered the Chef's Catch Ceviche which costs $20 and we got a tiny bowl with 3 small chunks of fish...we eat a lot of ceviche and this one was lacking lime (a key ingredient) and fish! My gf ordered the fresh catch and it was also very underwhelming. We understand smaller portions and plating but when you charge $40 for a plate, I think it's fair to assume the dish will leave you somewhat full. Our biggest issue with this place was that 2 of the 3 plates ordered tasted and smelled the same...they all had this chopped pepper/herbal topping that was very off putting. And the taste, even after removed from the fish overpowered all the flavors. The truffle fries were great and the burger was the best dish ordered.Service was good.Update: Both my girlfriend and I threw up after eating here. Avoid.

I can see that many people enjoy this restaurant. And I loved the B&M burger. Especially the truffle fries. Can't go wrong. The Bucatini & Gulf shrimp was good, not great. The big drawback is the lack of decent air conditioning. I had sweat running down my back it was so uncomfortable. Skipped ordering dessert and left in a hurry after last bite. Was told it was hot due to a door that was damaged in the recent hurricane....however I had already read an older posted review that indicated they uncomfortable there as well. And I had hoped the A/C was fixed - or larger unit needed?!Another issue the website is out of date with older happy hour days/pricing. How frustrating is that when you get to a restaurant?!!Also the ambiance needs an upgrade with more personality and maybe a lighter paint color? I rarely make these type of comments, however wish for them to do better. I love Brick & Mortar. I may revisit when it's cooler during winter season.

We were a bit concerned when we arrived as we were the only patrons... over the next 45 mins. that changed dramatically at this chef owned restaurant and the place was packed on an early Friday evening. We were warmly greeted by the chef owner's mom we learned later and seated near the second floor windows since the outside deck seating was searingly hot.. They could really use some umbrellas or shade devices for Pre-sunset dining.Service was spot on and our waiter Brian did a great job of giving us the finer details of the various menu items. The PEI oysters were great and the presentation above and beyond!I had the scallops with coconut rice - perfectly cooked and really tasty. Note the sauce had a little heat but I enjoy that aspect. My wife throughly enjoyed her Queen snapper dish.Would have given 5 stars, but the truffle fries, while well presented were quite soggy... a small miss in an overall fantastic dining experience.See pics.. presentations are outstanding!

Hands-down, one of my absolute favorite meals that I had while I was visiting my mom and stepdad in Florida for the holidays. They brought me here on a Wednesday night for dinner, and from start to finish the entire meal was phenomenal. Our waiter, Quinton, was extremely kind and engaging. To start, we decided to split an order of their peel and eat shrimp, as well as their Ahi tuna tartare. The shrimp were juicy and succulent, in a wonderful buttery broth. And the Ahi tuna tartare was out of this world. The shrimp chips that accompanied that dish had the perfect crisp with the smooth avocado, to balance everything out, and the pickled carrots and perfect kimchi. I could have ordered several plates of that, and been completely content. But we didn't stop there! Before our entrées, I decided to try their roasted beet and goat cheese salad, which was incredible while my mom and stepdad split their grilled Caesar salad. They absolutely love that salad, and have ranted and raved about it since I got here. As if it couldn't get better from there, our entrées arrived. I decided to try their sea scallops with coconut curry while my mom ordered her favorite dish - the shrimp and grits. My stepdad had been wanting to try the tile fish for quite some time, and luckily, it was the catch of the day. All three of us were completely enamored with our dishes. For my dish, the scallops were perfectly tender, and the coconut curry was so complex in its flavor profile. It took all of my willpower not to devour the plate in one swoop. I was lucky enough to sample some of my mom's grits, and they were so smooth and buttery. I think they may have been the best grits I have ever had in my life.Despite being perfectly content, and quite full, we couldn't resist ordering the glazed donut bread pudding for dessert. It was not overly sweet like you might think, and was the perfect ending note for an absolutely amazing meal. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be coming back to see where the for several years to come whenever I am in town visiting.
