Decided to try a different pizza place this Friday night, called to place a pick up order, hold time was just at 5 minutes. Very friendly staff took my order. X-lg pizza half cheese half green peppers and onion with an order of garlic knots. Pizza was tasteless, it just simply lacked any sort if flavor, the garlic knots were good, had we known how small of a side of sauce we would get with these we would have ordered a few extra sides of sauce (the sauce given was enough for 2 knots for my personal liking)

Bought garlic bread to-go, when I got home and open the bag all of it was burnt. Can't believe that what they serve to their customers.

Ordered a large Italian Calzone. It had virtually no meat, mainly ricotta and bread. Almost no sauce in the Calzone. Even the large came with a tiny cup of marinara sauce. Paid extra to get a larger cup. Very disappointing.

Homemade non-chain pizza is hard to find on South Florida Avenue, but Sal's II is not worth your stop. Located in the corner of a small strip mall, this retail location has changed hands 4 times in two years. The ambiance is "shack" and "storage" with stuff crammed in one corner, worn and torn booths, worn and torn table coverings-even the wall hangings aren't hung properly. You get the feeling of dirtiness upon entry. That's the first turn-off.Three employees, no customers. Bad sign. One employee had shoulder length unkempt hair, not tied back, another had a 4 inch unkempt beard. Neither does one care to see in the food service industry. ew. Second turn-off. The front person knew nothing about the menu.Only two kinds of pizza by the slice--cheese or pepperoni. Why would you bypass any other restaurant (who serves many choices) for this? They have a 2 drink and soda for $6 "special". The soda was flat and they didn't know how to fix it. I got water for my "deal". The pizza was cheesy but greasy from the heated pepperoni. There was no parmesan, oregano or red pepper flakes on any table. The long-haired guy went on a delivery so no one was in the place. I ate and left, with no need to return.

One of the best pizza places in Lakeland. Not my favorite but is up there. Their salads are great and the pizza is really good. I've been there twice already and will return more often, since my favorite pizza place is in Brandon/Valrico area.

This was the first time we had Sal's. The New York style pizza brought me right back to my days living in NYC. The pizza tasted exactly like the places we would order from in Queens. We couldn't stop eating it. It's now at the top of our list for pizza carry out and delivery.

My sister and I stopped here after she got off work (about 4:30) Both of our dishes were outstanding and we will be returning many more times. I love that they serve garlic knots with meals. Anywhere else, you'd have to order a side of them.

Gave them several shots at improving, but after the third time of getting our pizza delivered after 75-90 minutes without a heating bag and luke warm at best (the third time it was actually cold), we're done. It's a shame because we used to order pizza delivery at least twice a month. For reference, Sal's II is 4.8 miles from our home (10 minutes).
