I absolutely love coming to Sal's. Their sandwiches are so good. But even more the service is amazing! I really enjoy the Cuban Sandwich! And their fries are fantastic and crisp. The empanadas are also great. Go check it out.

We tried the Cuban sandwich, yuca fries, different empanadas and the Tres Leches cake.Food was plentiful and delicious. The tres leches cake was the best I've ever tasted. Will be going back to this "blink and you will miss it" location. Place looks sketchy outside so be prepared when you walk in to the place...it's really nice.

A great find, although a little hard to find, blink and you will miss it (and you certainly won't see the "Parking in the back" sign). Anyone claiming to have a good Cuban sandwich should n Florida immediately raises suspicions, but I'm happy to report it was indeed really good. Tender meat, good flavors, really nice proportions. The staff is super friendly, and the little parking it out back is key. It is really a mix of little bodega/latin market with three sets of tables to eat in if you want, a deli counter, a hot bar (with rotating specials to go) and a dessert/pastry case. Well worth the search if you are in the area.

This is a small convenient store that serves some amazing food. The staff is super friendly and Sal the owner is usually there. This is definitely on of the best Cuban and roast pork sandwiches in Tampa Bay.

Found this local spot on Yelp. Hard to find, parking on the side. Friendly staff, food looks great and prices are good.

Sal's Bodega Charcuterie, located in southwest Tampa off of Interbay makes great sandwiches with authentic Cuban sides. They also offer special hot meals that vary weekly. It's a small clean place, but they have a decent parking lot in the back. There have a small selection of groceries-more impulse than necessities-along with desserts and bottled drinks. I stopped off for lunch on a Friday afternoon, and though it was busy, ordered from the counter and received my food promptly. There were probably a dozen customers while I was there and everyone was patient as there is only one grill and prep area. Despite that, Sal kept the line moving and he and his helper got the food out pretty quickly. My Italian sub compared well to most any sandwich shop in the bay. For around $10 and 20 minutes, Sal's hits the lunch time sweet spot. Give them a try if you're in south Tampa and want a nice break from chains.

This is a great little "bodega" SOG. It has a sandwich bar, some Latin American products (mostly Goya/Badia), and some locally-produced snacks and desserts. I tried their Cuban sandwich. It was huge. It was full of very flavorful and juicy roast pork. While I would have preferred a crispier pressed bread, the fillings are probably among the best I've had in Tampa (I'm a fan of Bodega's Cuban sandwich). The sandwich is pricy, $9.99. But when compared to Interbay (green) Market, the filling quality is better and more generous, so the prices are comparable. Certainly I could not finish the whole sandwich. The location is a little farther away from me than Interbay, so I'm not switching away entirely, but this is a great option for people in the west SOG area who want a very filling sandwich at lunchtime.

It's not a fast lunch (45min) but not because they aren't hustling. The place is packed at lunch so figured they must be doing something right. The Meatball parm sammy ($11) is enough for lunch, dinner, and maybe another lunch. Comes on crispy, soft buttered Cuban bread. I'll come back and try more. Yes there's outdoor seating and parking in the back but zero shade so don't bring the dog. Seating inside was clean. Not enough items to be considered a'market' when compared to Interbay Meat Market down the road.
