Sally O' Neal's Pizza Hotline

We are in the midst of a Sally O'Neal renaissance. The deep dish pies have become a garlic infused love fest of personal style yummy that our house craves weekly. We order online and hop into the car for pickup, never sad about our choices and always delighted in the flavors, temp, etx for a plus perfect pizza meal. We recently decided to forgo the to go experience for a nice patio visit on a weekday in February with HH 9oz pours ($12) and spectacular service.Sally, you never fail us.

After a 5 mile walk, & being 32 weeks pregnant I was really hoping for this place to hit the spot, but it was an absolute miss. We ordered a Margherita Pizza & a Chicken Parm Hero. The Margherita Pizza had practically no cheese on it. Literally just tomato, sauce and bread with a few dots of mozzarella. I actually never had pizza with no cheese before today. The Chicken Parm Hero was better than the pizza, but came out warm instead of hot. I would say my favorite part of the meal were the potato chips that came on the side of the hero. In addition to the meal being subpar, we waited SO long for the check. I actually don't know what we waited longer for, the room-temperature Chicken Parm Hero, or the bill. The other table outside had a different waitress and she attended to them 5xs more than our server, so maybe it was just our luck. Overall, we won't be back. Super disappointed in today's meal.

I did a create your own with thin crust special request........white base with roasted red peppers, fresh garlic and mushrooms. Delicious!!!!

Mozzarella Mismanagement may the new name for this once well-respected pizza place. On a visit for takeout ordering was fast, friendly and efficient. I decided to have a glass of wine while waiting: Two waitresses continually walked by me seated there without even acknowledging my presence (for 40 minutes). Also given the cold-shoulder were a dozen dirty glasses and dishes never bussed and the bar itself which had not been cleaned of crumbs/spillage from the last customers (who somehow had arranged "service"). Another customer approached the waitress behind the bar who was folding knives and forks into napkins (no hand cleaning first or use of disposable kitchen gloves) complaining of the wait and non-attention given her party. When I got my pizza it was the cashier who went out of her way to clean the bar while giving the wait staff a pair of eye-rolls. The original owner's died. There is no real management--a sure sign this place is on its last legs. Get some good pizza and salads for takeout only, while it lasts.

First of all the spinach mushroom lasagna was a 10! Second of all the chicken artichoke pizza with white sauce was a 10. The Beef Gorgonzola, and Sally supreme pizza was a 9. The waitress was very kind and attentive to our needs. We ate outside with a cool breeze and very friendly atmosphere. From what I saw everything was clean. Would I eat there again and or recommend it? Absolutely.

Stopped here for a late lunch. It was much more affordable than the Italian place next door. I got the eggplant parm sub amd my friend got the eggplant pasta, which was a big enough serving she took the other half home. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. Just classic Italian food like pizza, pastas and subs. Nothing fancy, but it hit the spot.

So, I've been to Sally's many times. Dined in, taken out... good staple place. It's their own deal. Almost like you'd say I'm in the mood for pizza and you'd list places, or you'd say I want Sally's and that's the deal, you aren't going anywhere else. Some friends mentioned calzones over the weekend and I had it in my head that I had to have one and it had to be Sally's - it did not disappoint! Great dinner. However, when I went to pick it up, there was no real interest in anyone greeting me. Air buds in, doing closing work early... I finally got someone's attention and I was given the box, which barely closed because it's so large! It was basically just dropped on the counter, here you go, that's it. Had to ask for a bag as I was getting it to go... felt like I was an inconvenience. I will absolutely go back for the great food, but that definitely left a bit of a bad taste.

DONE WITH SALLY!We ordered dinner directly from Sally's tonight online and chose the delivery option. Ordered around 6:35 pm and the confirmation email stated "Order Delivery Time: Today at 7:09 PM to 7:29 PM". At 7:48 PM(1 hour and 13 minutes later) I called to ask about the status of delivery only to find out Sally's uses DoorDash for delivery and DoorDash had not come to pick up the order and they don't know when they will arrive or when I would receive our order. They said it could be another hour. On two previous occasions, we ordered delivery and our orders were delivered more than 30 and 45 minutes late.....and the food was lukewarm. Now we know why.It's unacceptable to advertise that you deliver, provide an online ordering platform and an estimated time of delivery and then fail to deliver,. And hard to fathom they did not think to provide us the courtesy of a call to let us know they have no idea if, or when, the delivery would be made. So suffice it to say we are done with Sally!

I never write reviews but I feel like I got robbed by how disgusting the pizza was and the "garlic sticks". Everything was doughy and cost almost $50 for a pizza and garlic sticks. DO NOT COME HERE. Absolutely insane prices for disgusting pizza just because it's in Hyde park. I hope y'all don't sleep at night
