This rooftop Spanish bar and restaurant has a lot to offer, and still has potential. The drinks were well-crafted, with a great selection of cocktails, wines, and sangrias that paired beautifully with the flavorful food. The tapas were delicious and perfect for sharing, though a few dishes and drinks could have been a bit more generous in portion.The ambiance was fantastic--chic and vibrant with stunning rooftop views that made the experience even more special. Happy hour deals were an ok bonus, offering excellent value on drinks and small bites. The weekend DJ added a lively energy to the atmosphere, making it a great spot for a night out.Overall, a wonderful place to dine and unwind, just a few small tweaks away from perfection! Will definitely be back.

Went here for a birthday brunch and it was a horrible experience. The drinks took forever to arrive and it was NOT busy. I think they are either completely understaffed or unprepared. The restaurant was almost empty aside from 3/5 tables of less than 8. The drinks were extremely weak to be $16-20 in price range. Then the food took over 1.5 hours to come out. When it did my chicken was lukewarm and the waffle was cold. This is brunch plates were talking here that took this long and did not appeal to our taste.The server made 0 accommodations or updates as to why we were waiting so long. Other tables said they got to the restaurant at 12pm and did not get food until 3pm.I advised the server my waffle was cold and they did bring a new plate... to which the waffle and chicken tasted like it was sitting all morning on a warmer. Very unsatisfied I would not recommend coming back.

The ambiance is why this is scoring as it is. I enjoy visiting Sal y mar for a legendary linkups event or other cute day parties. It's a rooftop restaurant and located atop a hotel. I believe it's the element but don't quote me on that. The food lacks diversity and flavor. It's standard bar fair so I usually don't order food. I really go for the food music, breezes days and nights, think a tipsy breezy rooftop night with some Calvin Harris playing in the background. That's what keeps me coming back.

Food is good. Ambiance is great, however the service should be better. The hosts weren't attentive to our table nor were they as welcoming as you would expect in a place of this caliber. I don't think I would return.

Sal y Mar is a beautiful spot with an excellent atmosphere, perfect for sharing with friends and enjoying great views. The service was outstanding, and the drinks menu offered plenty of good options. However, I found it to be on the pricey side considering the portion sizes. While the food was undeniably delicious, the portions were quite small for the cost.The deconstructed paella was more like a risotto, but it was absolutely flavorful. The burrata and ceviche appetizers had good taste, though the small portions left much to be desired. One downside is the lack of nearby or exclusive parking, which can be inconvenient. Overall, a lovely place for the ambiance and drinks, but be prepared for premium prices.

I do love this spot when I stay in Tampa. The menu selection is very limited. I would like to see more options. The drinks are on point and for the most part service is really good. I love the views from the rooftop and with good weather, it is a nice place to hang out. A

I hope you close down soon. The extremely loud music we hear as residents 4 blocks away is absolutely unbearable. This used to be a nice quiet neighborhood and you ruined every bit of our peace. Also I've been there and the food and drinks are so very priced and low quality. No thank you!

Sal y Mar it's a cool spot to have a drink and great food. The ambience is super cool and the service was excellent.

Attentiveness of the waitstaff made me feel like royalty This restaurant sits atop the Aloft hotel with magnificent views downtown tampa. The Aloft hotel has a rooftop pool next to the restaurant. I noticed many of the hotel guests order food and drinks from sal y mar and head to the pool. I ordered the pork belly sandwich with plantains. Generous portions of pork belly. It's topped with a delicious creamy goat cheese spread and garlic toasted buns. 10/10 This is my new favorite tampa spot. Will definitely return.

Came here to get drinks for our 1 year anniversary. Had the red sangria (10/10) and the Kiss of death (7/10). We had an order of steak & shrimp Tostones Shooters (8/10). This place is so good, service was lovely & great place for a date!
