Sal Rosa is quite a charming place. Situated in the old courthouse, it maintains its lofty heights but blends a vintage hotel style that feels almost like stepping back in time, just not quite. The food was great! The mango butter tickles your tastebuds, and the bread is so soft, with a great, light crunch to the outside. The house salads are enormous; you can easily split one between two people which is what I wish we had done! My partner thoroughly enjoyed their paella which came chock full of hefty seafood bites. But it's the lamb shank which is truly the star of the show! It's so tender that you barely touch the tine of a fork to it and it practically leaps off the bone before melting across your tongue. The risotto left a bit to be desired, but was fine overall. Service was a bit relaxed for my personal tastes, even if it was the middle of the week. But our waiter was pleasant enough, as was the rest of the staff.

We stopped in after dinner for some dessert. Their only options were gelato and churros so we went with the churros. They were excellent and had a good chocolate dipping sauce. In the morning we came here for our complementary hotel breakfast. It comes out on a large board with a variety of items. We were given an option between two flavors of muffins and two flavors of breakfast quiche pastry. The almond flavored granola was really good with the yogurt and berries. It was a light breakfast, but we had eaten so much the night before it was fine for us. My husband said the coffee at the restaurant was good and he got some to go. There's a coffee and gelato bar at the entrance of the restaurant. We were able to get a complementary specialty coffee here using his Marriott loyalty membership. I think that is only good for people staying at the hotel, but we were never asked for our hotel key. The waiter probably guessed that we were staying there. They didn't have many guests the night of December 23. Their dinner menu looked really good with Cuban cuisine. I would like to try dinner here sometime.

This is the restaurant at the Le Meridian Hotel which you can directly enter through the amazing front of the old Courthouse building. We were there for dinner and it was an off night since their menu was being updated and many items were unavailable. Service was excellent and the food that we did get was good. Would have been a solid 4 if not for that.

A restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere, though the prices felt a bit high to me. I went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday, and both the service and the setting were excellent. Some dishes stood out for their flavor, while others were just okay. The portions were small for the price. I chose the three-course menu for $50, which included an appetizer, a main dish, and gelato (the pistachio and chocolate was a great choice). I should note that the food took a little while to arrive, but it came out fresh and piping hot, just how I like it.PS: Due to its location, it's better to park on the street, though there are public parking lots nearby.

We had an incredible time at Sal Rosa on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is beautiful and as parents to a toddler we like restaurants that offer a chilled and quiet space. We opted to sit off to the side, near the bar area, although there is a main dining roomarea, which is beautiful. Michelle and Jorge were excellent, they both made our experience so delightful. They are professional, kind and courteous and they both went above and beyond. If you go to Sal Rosa, you should request to be helped by them. The food was really good and the bottomless mimosas on the weekend is a really good deal. I highly recommend Sal Rosa.

Old courthouse building in downtown Tampa converted to a very beautiful restaurant adjacent to a wonderful hotel. The food was very good, but not presented the way it showed for a higher class restaurant. We opted for the prime rib empanadas which only came to on a plate, no decoration no salad nothing. The shaved scallops with the pineapple ice appetizer was also extremely delicious. Gelato was offered in the lobby with nice coffee bar Street parking is what we found to be most convenient.

Stopped by on a Sunday night since it's attached to my hotel. The place was has a mini coffee bar by the entrance and the seating at the restaurant is spacious and feels upscale. The menu has a nice selection of seafood, homemade gelato, and tropical drinks. I ordered the fish ceviche and it had a spicy kick to it! The avocado helped tame down the spice. The service at the bar was quick and the staff were friendly.

Had lunch here during the week with my family and it was a nice change. Our waiter Jorge was super friendly and attentive. We had the empanadas, ropa vieja, chicken tortilla soup, jerk chicken drummets, kid's grilled cheese, and peanut butter gelato. We really liked the empanadas, ropa vieja, soup, fries, and gelato. Drinks were good too, we tried the espresso martini and Bloody Mary. It's a nice quiet restaurant with some music playing the background, very cool that it's a historical building. Our waiter encouraged us to look around the building after our meal and glad we did. It's not a museum by any means but nice to appreciate the historical aspect of this particular building.
